I meant as part of this new deal. I hadn't seen any mention, and this is the best photo I have seen of the Tunguska upgrade.
That Tunguska looks so tough that the U.S should start buying them, hey do you think that Russia would sell it to us?:D

There is rather Pantzir than Tunguska on the picture... It is not the chassis of tunguska, there are no SA missiles there and it is not also Byelorussian but Russian. Byelorussia anly offers command-control system for its integration.
Well...that site is Belorussian, and is there to advertise Belorussian defence procucers.

However, I don't dispute your confusion.
In truth, the original Pantzir is the truck mounted system. However there have been serious problems with getting the weapons to function while the truck is on the move, and also the missiles have had issues with targets...namely hitting them because of the innovative misslie structure.

What was decided is to essentially use the Tunguska's proven platform, and modernise the electronics and radar. The missiles as far as I know are still being developed so in actual combat the tracked Pantzir (now being called Tunguska -M2 in Russia) would still carry the same missiles as the Tunguska.

Do you know if Russia is selling India any other weapons platforms at the present time or working on something in the near future.

Lot of stuff, Joint development and production of MTA (Transport Aircraft), upgradation of Mig-29, Krivak III frigates, Upgradation of Kilo armed with Klub
3M-14E land attack cruise missiles, 40 additional Su-30 MKI (inaddition to 190 already contracted). Apparently lease of 2 Akulas is on track as well, there was a recent report of Defence secretary visiting Russia to inspect the progress on Akula. There was another report quoting Indian Foreign affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee (who was defence minister till a month back) that India will jointly develop 5 gen fighter with Russia.

President Putin is scheduled to visit India in January 2007. We may hear some interesting stuff then.

Added later - India is also buying a new IFV. From the specs it appears like BMP3 turret on BMP2 chasis. India also issued RFP for Khrizantema anti-tank missile system.

Wow - this is alot of different items, with three branches of service involved, how many new IFV`s is India looking at purchasing, and are they looking at some other designs that are out there from different countries. I wonder why they do not have a preference to go with the BMP3 hull, it has more crew compartment and troop space, I believe.

why not BMP 3?

Possibly because there are BMP-1s as well as BMP-2s held by us. Adding BMP-3s will add to the logistical and training problems.

I don't know of any intended sales of tactical AD systems to India.

The Pantzir is still under development though it is also being promoted for sales!
There is no new AD vehicle in development I know of, but the Shilka and the Tunguska are being proposed for various degrees of upgrade depth by various manufacturers, both at sub-systems and integrated levels.
The Russian Army has upgraded some Shilkas with new radar systems and associated tracking computers, including digital operator/gunner screens to the Tunguska-M level.
I have seen a Ukranian upgrade proposal to mount SAM (MANPAD) onto the Shilka, but don't know if this has been adopted by anyone.
