I am to conduct an interview with two PAF pilots tomorrow. If any of you fellows want to ask any questions put it here. Remeber they are GDP pilots, & not in the administration so plz ask relevant questions.

You have only few hours to put your questions here. If I ask any question given by you ppl I'll put the answers here.
gday Sabre??? where are you mate? Ive been looking fwd to reading the results of your interview. Ive just been reading Pak defence forum at invision board, and feel a bit hurt by the Aussie bashing on this site....is the feeling really that bad towards Australia? Do the people there know that we really only hear about Pakistan via cricket, and news of natural disasters that our gov pours aid $$$ into, as well as donations from the public? its a shame that they feel that way.

No one hates Australia here. Must be something wrong with the ppl on Pak Defence forum.

I have delayed the interview with the PAF boys. Bit busy lately in other importent stuff. They are always around so I can interview them any time. Will probably do so in abt 3 weeks. If you got question for them than just ask :)

Ask them if they feel the combo of JF-17 and J-10 will in their opinion deal effectively with Su-27 and Mig29

And whether they should try and get a big jet instead like the su27 for PAF.

Why would anyone go for an outdated SU-27 when they can buy a J-10 ? Even China has stopped production of its SU27s and is buying SU-30MKs and now SU-33s. As regards a Mig-29.....AGAIN.....why buy it when Pakistan is getting 36 new Block52 F-16s??

As a pakistani, i must say that is quite shocking to hear. I'm not familiar with that forum so cant comment on it, but in general i havent heard of any bad feelings or hate towards australia in anyway (perhaps your cricket team for being so good ;) )

and Sabre: looking forward to your interview. do ask about what PAF assets (JF-17, F-16 or J-10) are most likely to be deployed for navy duty to replace the mirage V's, and any other info on the new acquisitions would also be nice.

I have been hearing some reports about the Pakistani Air Force and how it has showen intrest in the Rafale aircraft. My question is: Are they going to buy the Rafale or maybe go for another 4th generation aircraft:confused: ?

Those inquiries were 3 years ago. The F-16 Block 50 acquisition killed any chance of that happening.

the problem is that the french do not offer subsidised prices for their aircrafts, rafales are expected to cost around 60 million dollars per aircraft.

during benazir bhutto's tenure pakistan expressed interest in the french mirage2000-5's,their plan was to acquire around 40 of them, however the deal fell through due to differences in price and payment options.

PAF plane crashes

KARACHI: A PAF Mirage aircraft which was on a routine operational training mission crashed some 15 miles north of Karachi on Wednesday. A PAF spokesman said that the pilot ejected safely. He said that no casualty or damage to property was reported on the ground.

The spokesman pointed out that the aircraft had taken off from PAF Base and crashed about 15 miles north of Karachi, two to three miles away from populated area. A probe has been ordered.

===========

Pakistan need to replace her ageing Aircrafts at the earliest possible time. Unfortunately, if my info is correct, the majority of plane accident/ crash occured at MASROOR BASE in this calander year.

It is interesting to note that in the previous years, Masroor received commendation certificate/ trophy for Flight Safety by the CAS.

True. The major issue was price-factor/ payment options.
And this is also true that PAF tried her level best to convince the government to go-ahead with the deal, but to no avail.

Bird hit caused Mirage crash

ISLAMABAD, Dec 21: The Pakistan Air Force on Thursday said that the cause of its Mirage aircraft crash, occurred on Wednesday in Karachi, indicated that a large bird was entangled in the aircraft engine. According to the initial investigations, the PAF said the aircraft engine caused the loss of engine power hence the aircraft flight could not be sustained.—APP

There mirages aren't as bad as they seem.
