Aliph Ahmed, this has been posted before if I remember correctly. There is no point posting this piece up here out-of-context.. No one was discussing PAF's performance in any war.. You are baiting Indians.
H2 and H4 are bombs not BVRAAMs.some where on internet i found pakistan has developed BVRAAM capabilities.Any information about this .......
they say paf have modified the darter missle to develp H-2 &
H-4 missles/bombs.

Stealth bombers?? I think you're dreaming what isnt even a dream.i think pakistan must consider about acquiring bombers jets from usa .......while PAF is still taking active part on war on terror.
any one supporting my idea?...
stealth bombers will provide PAF with a punching fist in war scenarios.
That is what I said that they are bombs and not Air-to-Air missiles.H2 and H4 are beyond visual range air to ground munitions.
I can also tell you that 198 AIM-120s have been delivered but I have no link to back it up. However, As per the news release of Raytheon company, deliveries of the AIM-120 C5s were to start from 2008 and we are halfway 2009 now. Therefore, it is safe to conclude that Pakistan did recieve AIM-120Cs.
As to the missiles themselves, I have read reports over the years indicating a significant quantity have indeed been delivered.
Recent reports posted by people on other forums (pakdef) also suggest that the AMRAAMs have not been delivered yet.According to some reports/rumors PAF had recieved 150 AIM-120C AMRAAMs out 500 ordered by the end of 2008.
Usman,
I am a little confused here.
This Offocial Statement from US dating Sept. 2008 states that the weapons "will be available for delivery to Pakistan beginning in June 2010".
Since this is from Sept. 2008, I suppose it overrules any earlier statement and information from Raytheon.
Both these -- one official and the other from yesterday -- suggest AMRAAMs have NOT been delivered and will only be delivered once the infrastructure is in place and favorable inspection takes place sometime next year.Housing F-16, Amraam missiles at Jacobabad: PAF wavering to sell non-operational land
ISLAMABAD (August 10 2009): Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is reportedly wavering in taking decision to sell its non-operational land as directed by the Prime Minister, to develop infrastructure in Jacobabad (Sindh) for housing the contracted F-16 aircraft and Amraam missiles, expected to be completed by January 2010, official sources told Business Recorder.
The government has accorded GoP guarantee to PAF to raise Rs 6 billion loan from National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) besides ex post facto approval of GoP guarantee and Term Finance Agreement for Rs 1 billion loan already obtained from Allied Bank Limited (ABL) with the concurrence of Finance Ministry.
At the same time, the government has refused to assume any financial liability in this case and directed the PAF to retire the loans as early as possible from the sale proceeds of its land.
"PAF will have to comply with the US government (USG) quality and security standards whereby delivery of F-16 and Amraam missiles would only materialise after a favourable survey report from National Disclosure Policy Committee of the USG," sources said.

Recent reports on PakDef also suggest that 250 have been delivered. I have no confirmation on this so no comments.Recent reports posted by people on other forums (pakdef) also suggest that the AMRAAMs have not been delivered yet.
Surely with all the information available, foriegn military sales dpt. (or other concerned departments) of USA must have provided records of such transfers.Recent reports on PakDef also suggest that 250 have been delivered. I have no confirmation on this so no comments.
The "How" part is described in the PAF Chief's logic in his quotes which are part of the article. Am sure other forum members will also contribute their thoughts on that aspect, but might i add here that Pakistan is now on the forefront of countries affected by terrorism. Just check out the number of attacks in 2008Guys i was surfing through Deftalk news section and came across this news " Paf is acquiring il 78 mid air re-fuelers by 2010".In that news it is said that they need it to counter Terrorists.I don't get it,for each and every military acquisition they are showing combating terrorism as an excuse.I don't want to flame, but can any one give me how Paf's mid air re fuelers going to help in so called war against terrorism.
PAF to Acquire Ilyushin Il-78 aircraft by 2010 | Air Force News at DefenceTalk
Significantly bigger than any European country. Only small compared to India & other very big countries.I am not flaming..with this in mind.Let me put it in this way Pakistan is a small state ....
The reporter got it wrong. PAF has never associated air refuelers with counter terrorism operations. Il-78 are part of PAF's modernization plan and force multiplier.Guys i was surfing through Deftalk news section and came across this news " Paf is acquiring il 78 mid air re-fuelers by 2010".In that news it is said that they need it to counter Terrorists.I don't get it,for each and every military acquisition they are showing combating terrorism as an excuse.I don't want to flame, but can any one give me how Paf's mid air re fuelers going to help in so called war against terrorism.
PAF to Acquire Ilyushin Il-78 aircraft by 2010 | Air Force News at DefenceTalk
The IL78 are not for F-16s. For the F-16s PAF has ordered CFTs. IL-78 will refuel Mirage-III, V, JF-17 and FC-20.I am not flaming..with this in mind.Let me put it in this way Pakistan is a small state so with the range and airborne duration of F-16 it can easily cover all of pak. Now the use of re fuelers is intended for curbing or terrifying terrorists as a support to Ac's.If at all such Operation is going on wont it be easy for an F-16 from a near by base to take off and do the intended job.Rather than flying F-16 prior to the op and keeping it airborne for long time.Economically is it wise if the role for il 78 is above mentioned for pakistan.
well i also don't like the name fc20,i'll suggest JF16....J for its chinese origin and F16 for its common comparison with F16s......it will also match the current PAF lineage as they already got JF17 with them.Hey,
Is there any chance Pakistan Airforce could change/replace this diffilcult and rather un-attractive new name FC-20 Fighter with a good name for the J10 Fighter. FC-20 name looks so dull and kills the repu of the jet. There was talk about naming J10 Pakistani modified version with J10-Pak or J10P or something like J10P 'Vulture'. What happened? Just as Jf17 Thunder is a kool name why cant it be like J10P Vulture Fighter or J10-Pak as was suggested earlier ??
Given how hard Pakistani engineers and technicians are working in improving the Chinese J10, I humbly request a better new name than this difficult 'FC-20' name as its going to be the next possible work horse of PAF in times to come.
One more question is about the SAAB Ereiye AWE&C. How many Pakistan is looking to buy or any chance of a possible new acquisition in line with a combo package with Gripen NG?
Also is there any possibility of increasing the order of F16 Block 50/52 if Pakistan gets the current order of 18 delievered on time? Given the changing scenario I think Pakistan should have gone for the Gripen NG or Rafale or Russian Migs(through increasing contacts) or invest more in the JF17s? Pakistan needs a new set of 4.5 Generation or 5th Generation Fighters immediately and yet no deals in foreseeable future are seen why is that? Is it the wait for MMRCA of India but i think Pakistan must look at world scenario than just India.
How many Jf17s are in operation now? And will Pakistan receive the next 42 on time which is suppose to be completed by this dec 2009? How many JF17s are to be built in Pakistan and how many in China?
Thanks
