Nope, its a Z9, ie a chinese version of the Dauphin. To answer your query, its one of the 24 Helis acquired from Bell by Pakistani Forces.
Yes. I believe so. located right on the coast. consisting mainly of P-3C orions, various helicopters, a few dozon mirage fighters. We should have a heavy fighter squad in place by 2011 at the least. talk is of naval JF-17s to replace the aging mirages. we are also getting more p-3C orions.Does the pn have an airwing??
Guess reading and comprehension is not your strong point. That is Chinese Z-9 not a Bell.did PN got all the 24 Helli or they are comming in the form of Batches and which Bell modle is this ..
No disrepect intended but what is the point of a non-carrer navy operating a Fighter airwing, does it not just duplicate resources better placed elsewhere?Yes. To conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, ASW, EW, and strike missions in the northern Arabian Sea.No disrepect intended but what is the point of a non-carrer navy operating a Fighter airwing, does it not just duplicate resources better placed elsewhere?
except that those types of missions (and even strike is mission and requirements dependant) are not the province of fighter elements. To conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, ASW, EW, and strike missions in the northern Arabian Sea.
The trend is emerging (for smaller navies) to look at FAA fixed wing being co-crewed and operated by the air force anyway. Its logistically smarter across a number of critical areas.
In Argentinas case it's because the navy had a carrier, & when it lost it fought tooth & nail to keep the aircraft. It's even done some carrier training on Sao Paulo, dreaming of getting a new carrier one day. That was my thinking I'm aware of a few other navies operating Fleet Strike Arms, eg:Argentina, without carrier assets. Is this just inter service budget rivalry or is there a clear benefit.
Not necessarily. there is a reason for having such an airwing. the mirages have a main role of air to surface attack as well as a2a. the PN would be more or less a sitting duck without them. it's not as if the PN require this airwing to go too far. there their to protect the coast from attack. No disrepect intended but what is the point of a non-carrer navy operating a Fighter airwing, does it not just duplicate resources better placed elsewhere?
can't be doing much training thease days with San Paulo being in its present state and brazilIn Argentinas case it's because the navy had a carrier, & when it lost it fought tooth & nail to keep the aircraft.
