i missed feanor's update..
based on the info i scoured on the net, i found some interesting bits :
A letter from Ukraine' Security Service to Derek Chollet (US Assitant Secretary of Defense) regarding the death of US Agents that was onboard the same helicopter that was shot down with the National Guard general.
This info was supposedly hacked from the goverment's PC.
So far no denial at all from the US regarding this, im 50-50 on this but im have a feeling US certainly lost some people in the ukrainian debacle (covertly)..
here's the letter in question

there's also a list (by Andrei Illarionov ) of what US goverment been doing to Russia summarized in this blog (russian) , in as much i think the action of US goverment can already be considered as an aggressive moves to isolate russia (blockade?) that itself is about the same as war declaration (nasser's blockade of israeli ships in strait of tiran was one of the reason that israel used as their justification of first strike).

Fifteen aspects of Obama’s anti-Russia offensive:
1. For the first time over the last two decades, a US president has publicly declared that an attack on Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Romania, all NATO member countries, will prompt a NATO response under Article Five and that the West is prepared to defend them against a Russian attack.
2. The US president has publicly called Putin’s actions “Russia’s aggression against Ukraine” and a violation of the basis for cooperation between NATO and Moscow.
3. Obama has confirmed that NATO will go ahead with the installation of ABM sites in Eastern Europe, something that it had delayed for several years at Moscow’s insistence, and will complete that action before 2018.
4. The US has begun a new program of basing arms supplies in Eastern Europe and expanding military training and joint exercises there.
5. NATO has already increased its military presence throughout all of Eastern Europe from the Baltic to the Black Sea, with additional flights over the Baltic countries, NATO ships in the Black Sea, and larger and more frequent military exercises across the region.
6. The US for the first time is permanently basing US forces, in this case, so far, aviation units, in Poland.
7. The US is beginning a new partnership program with “friends of the US” Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
8. Obama has asked Congress for an additional appropriation of $1b to support these programs.
9. The US and NATO have begun a campaign to increase the military budgets of member countries up to a minimum of 2% of GDP.
10. The US has launched a program to increase energy exports to Europe and thus reduce the dependence of the latter on Russian supplies.
11.The US is promoting “other means” for the diversification of energy supplies to Europe.
12. The West has blocked the construction of the South Stream pipeline Putin has promoted.
13. The US is providing military support to Kyiv.
14. The US and other Western countries have declared that they will never recognize the Russian occupation of Crimea.
15. Obama has declared that any country which is a neighbour of Russia and is subject to aggression by Putin, “be it Ukraine, a NATO member country, Moldova or another,” will receive support from the US.
What is particularly important to note is that the majority of these measures will now be carried out independently of Putin’s actions in Ukraine and thus won’t be affected by any possible change in the Kremlin’s policy.
Personally i am really scared of the end result of this. there is only so much that all these sabre rattling will gain and then the unthinkable will happen. I also dont understand the stance of european on this , geopolitically. The intention of US with EU to isolate russia , for what purpose ? nothing good will come from this..
