Might be a time to put the JHSV through its paces, load up with everything we have in reserve (due to be retired or excess to needs) and hard charge it to the closest friendly port and final delivery via rail. Should be able to deliver to Italy 600 odd tons in around 2 weeks leaving from Townsville even accounting for the 8 to 9 at sea replenishments.
JHSV?
Does Australia have such a capability?
Interesting idea though

Essentially a high speed ferry... So, nope the RAN does not,at present, have that capability (but we did, see HMAS Jervis Bay back during East Timor).

But with INCAT and Austal both based in Aus... well, certainly a capability we could build locally fairly quickly (just give the Tasweigens a chance this time round, given how badly the sandgropers messed up the various patrol boats and the LCS...).

The Spearhead class EPFs don't have RAS capabilities and your idea would have to rely on the ships not encountering anything above sea state 5 for the entire journey. Pretty fanciful idea. Airlift would be faster.

I was thinking more borrow one of the spearhead class from the USN not go and build our own. We don't exactly have the need to permanently have such a capability on hand.

Did not realise they lacked RAS. I was on the fence about it but thanks to putting the idea to bed.

Video fo the Russians targetting the M777s. The first attack was using loitering munition, maybe Kubs. The second is either MLRS or cluster munition. They used the drone to track the artillery, but the second attack, did not look very successful.

There were several videos (mostly watermaked by Gonzo) showing direct Russian atrillery hits on Ukrainian trenches

Ukrainian DJI operator targetted when trying to retreieve his drone, this is an older video. The UA has since modified their tactics, they land the drones further away from the operators and I read somewhere that they installed new software on the DjIs that removed the DJI aeroscope to prevent tracking. Note accoriding to DJI they stopped shipping drones to both Russia and Ukraine. No idea how effective this ban is, as any third party can order the DJIs and ship them to Russia and Ukraine respectively.

The Original poster mixed the 3 clips of the same event. It shows UA ATGM teams hunting down a T-80.

Ukraine forces hunt down a Russian T-80 during the battle for Pytomnyk north of Kharkiv (3 clips merged)

A Ukrainian soldier destroys a Russian orlan-10 drone with a polish supplied manpad

First Alleged video of Brimstones attacking Russian targets

First footage of brimstone missiles hitting their targets in Ukraine

A Russian BMP sees another BMP getting blown up in a minfeild and then rushes into the same minefiled and full speed. Maybe they were spooked by artillery or maybe something else, but the BMP ran headlong into a minefield, after knowing that it was there.

Two destroyed Russian BMPs after entering a minefield, Eastern Ukraine, May 2022

Ukrainains using Drones to help direct AGLs. I have seen similar videos from DPR and LNR forces earlier this month. This appears to be popular on both sides. The saturation power from the AGL makes this understandable.

Ukrainians targeting Russian positions with an AGL and a spotting drone.

More footage out of Azovstal'.

Russian and rebel troops await the surrendering fighters.

Fighters exiting the factory.

Two apparently have SS symbols on their uniform. Likely an unwise decision given the context.

DNR Ministry of Interior and Russian troops processing surrendering fighters from Azovstal'.

The buses for the surrendering fighters.

Russian prison transports for surrendering fighters.

Russian troops removing the surrendered fighters.

Assorted footage.

Reports that some of the fighters may face prosecution in Russia.

Surrendered wounded in a hospital, DNR area.

DNR reservists that are guarding the surrendered fighters.

EDIT: One of Russia's UN representatives claims that the Azovstal' surrender was unconditional.

I’m waiting for confirmation from Feanor. I’ve been trying to read Russian telegram channels, but it’s been hard. There is a talk(from my limited understanding) of a failed Ukrainian offensive near “Gulyai Pole,” but I haven’t seen any photos/videos to confirm.
Confirmation is starting to emerge of a failed Ukrainian offensive at Gulyaypole. I'll try to do an update on it soon. It appears some of the new Polish T-72s may have been involved.

If the same You-Tube video is accurate in its translation then its

Also unlike much of social media its not the 115th Brigade, Its a single platoon in the 3rd Battlion of the 115th Brigade and the way I interprete the statement is more along the lines they just wont be going on the attack anymore.
That's what the reports I have seen say too. One platoon, 3rd Btln, 115th TerDef Bde. The bigger issue is that it appears to be part of an emerging pattern. Several Ukrainian units have released similar videos relatively recently.

I'm going to take this with a grain of salt, This is normally a credible poster but this seems a bit suspicious.

One of the crossings is mapped out to Staryi Saltiv, as far as I know, as of the 15th, that bridge was still out. If true, everything south and east of there is suddenly pretty vulnerable. If the UAF has enough troops that is.
It is quite intriguing and if the Ukrainian Army do manage to gain a sizeable bridgehead on the eastern side of the Donets River then they will create a serious problem for the Russians. This problem will be exacerbated if they manage to liberate one or two of the main towns that are also main transport hubs, because that will have them sitting astride major logistics routes. The real problem for the Russians is that if the Ukrainians dig themselves in and fort up, the Russians may not have sufficient strength to be able to dislodge them, or cut them off from their own forces and logistics. According to the UKMOD the Russians have lost one third of their ground forces in Ukraine and that is a big loss in any ones language. Russia loses ‘one third’ of ground force in Ukraine according to UK (ukdefencejournal.org.uk) So it's reasonable to assume that they might not be in a position to dislodge this Ukrainian force at all. They will be forced to respond to it, but with what ground forces?

"Australia has announced a new Military aid package for Ukraine, including
14 M-113AS4
20 additional Bushmasters
3 pallets of radiation monitoring equipment
60 pallets of medical supplies donated by Australians
Total value of latest contribution is $60.9m
Australia's contribution now totals $285m"

I'm impressed with the Australian commitment, though I am a little surprised we had the gumption for it. I read one commentator (Stephen Loosely, I think, who I believe was a minister in a former Labour government), arguing for 38 Bushmasters to be donated - one for each of the 38 Australians killed when separatist/Russian's shot down that Malaysian airliner. I thought that was a great idea and a perfect way to show our disgust at what happened and the refusal of Russia to co-operate with the criminal investigation. It is a remarkable instance of ''reaping what you sow'

Won't be surprised if it doesn't stop at 40 either, the Australian Army has received over a thousand of them and have lost about 3 dozen I believe, beyond repair. So there would be hundreds in storage.

I might be wrong and those videos (or some of them) are legite, but I think they might rather be part of russian psychological warfare.

They all cover the exact same talking points which are identical to claims we have heard from POW's pretty much since day one of the war. Especially the claim to be "abandoned by the command" is stated everytime.

In addition the videos of ukrainian units in insubordination also are all shoot in the same way: all the guys in more or less full gear while their leader is making the statement.

I hope Bellingcat or other OSINT specialists will take a closer look at these videos, it should be possible to at least determine if these men are who they claim to be.

It's certainly not impossible. On the flip side they identify units and don't hide their faces. It should in theory be relatively easy to disprove if these are fakes. And there is one other possibility. The POWs from day one of the war were telling the truth. The Ukrainian military was rife with corruption and incompetence. Is it any stretch of the imagiation to suspect that these issues persist?

EDIT: We are allegedly up to 1730 surrendered from Azovstal', out of a supposed total of ~2500.

Russian telegram channels claim that Russian paratroopers and PMC Wagner made a breakthrough from Popasna. Supposedly the following towns are in Russian control. Trypillya, Volodymyrivka, Kamyanka and Soledar. The last town, Soledar, supposedly puts Severodonetsk and Lysychansk into a serious near encirclement. Idk what territory Ukraine still holds in the region, but the Russians are claiming there are 12,000 troops in the area. If any of this is true, Ukraine needs to relieve this pressure immediately.

Per the same channels, the Ukrainian counteroffensive around Kharkiv has stalled, and the Russians are now trying to launch their counterattack to improve the frontline.

I hope I’m doing this the correct way. Let me know if it doesn’t work.

Edit:

Kharkhov post.

Feanor, if I am doing anything incorrectly, please let me know. I’d like to contribute to the forum in a correct manner. Hope I’m making sense.

I was unsure of whether to post this or not, moderators please feel free to edit my message if it is inappropriate.
Someone has made a "movie" out of the videos inside the phone of a Russian soldier that participated in the war. I find unethical to post the private content of the phone of a POW but nevertheless there is some interesting content. The first part of the "movie" is composed by videos of his private life, then in minute 13:40 approximately it starts with videos of the war, filmed by this soldier on the ground.

Here is the link:

This works. So far this is just an unconfirmed claim. We will have to wait on footage to confirm. Next time just go ahead and post these kinds of sources with the provided disclaimer that we're dealing with less than wholly realiable information.
