Russia is designing military tanks in comparison to USA and other countries, and that are definitely have long ranges and big barrels.

The Platforma-M battle robots, that were seen at last year's Victory Day parade in Kaliningrad, were seen at Vilyuchinsk. It's part of the security unit for the 10th Submarine Division. I wonder if the unmanned vehicle in question has passed state trials. If it has, we could see mass induction in the near future.

Is it remotely controlled or autonomous? Okay, probably not fully autonomous, but at least able to navigate obstacles on its own etc...?

Good question. I don't know. But here's more material on new unmanned systems. The mine clearing one was tested in Chechnya earlier on actual minefields.

Thanks, so I guess the one with the bulldozer blade in the front is the mine-clearing UGV? If so, it does appear a little small/narrow for other vehicles, but I think it would clear a sufficiently wide path for infantry to pass.

It's called the Uran-6 and has been used successfully to clear minefields in Chechnya. What this entailed in practice is unclear.

I wonder what the logic is behind sticking a 30mm autocannon, ATGMs and MANPADS on the same large unmanned chassis.

Anybody else been seeing those graphic renders of the T-14 tank? I've only just recently started looking into the Russian military so I don't have too much background knowledge, but I get the impression that this thing is more of a concept art. Anybody who has some brain-punch on this project have anything?

Nope. The first LRIP batch is being manufactured right now, for use in the Victory Parade. They should be getting handed over by the end of March (probably sooner). We know that they will use the Epoha combat module for IFVs (unmanned, a 2A42 autocannon, a PKT, and 4 ATGMs). The tank chassis will have either 6 or 7 rollers, 3 crew sitting all inside the hull, an unmanned turret with a new 125mm main gun, a remote-controlled machinegun on the roof (possible similar to the T-90MS set up), and some sort of new and highly advanced FCS, though what that means in practice remains to be seen. The panoramic sights on the T-72B3 modernized might be some indicator of what's to come.

All images you come across online, are little more then fan fiction, though some may be rather close to the truth.

Which round are they likely to use for the main gun? They've been quiet on ammo from what I've seen.
I have no idea. The Russian munition industry is badly behind. They don't have anything remotely approaching new western ammo tech, and I'm not sure we will see anything all that impressive any time soon. If you look at their new combat modules, you'll notice that they don't bother to develop new weapons either. The same old Soviet 30mms, the same PKTs, NSVTs, etc. Even the impressive new unmanned 57mm module from Burevestnik uses the old S-60 AAA cannon from the 50s.

The 2S35 Coalition-SV has been leaked to the internet, possibly in a chinese-style "leak" given the out of the bushes look of the photos. You can clearly see it's on a T-90 chassis (possibly a T-90M chassis), not on the Armata platform. This may be a prototype, and the serial vehicles may use the Armata platform after all, but it's hard to say. It certainly would defeat the point of a unified chassis, to have the T-90 chassis remain in service. On the other hand lots of new vehicles, including the TOS-1A, the BMO-T, the BREM-1M, etc. use a T-72 or T-90 chassis. So the whole concept of a unified chassis is probably out the window.

Kurganets-25 contract has been signed. How many vehicles this means in practice remains to be seen.

The Kurganets-25 sighted, and the Armata T-14 too.

And video of the Armata, where you can start to see a little more of the shape of the turret.

Note how different it looks from the leaked photos of the Object 195.

Another photo of the Armata.

She looks bigger and with a higher profile that the prior tanks. Interesting she seems to have an angle running down from her rear to her front, and perhaps thicker decking. I can't wait to see the turret and final layout. Purse speculation on my part, based on the very limited pics of course. An extra wheel, and we don't know wheel size makes sizes a bit harder to gauge and compare. Is there any info on her current weight?

I just noticed there is a guy in the tank in the picture.

If that's actually the new MBT, the glacis seems very similar to the T-72 - I thought it was going to be flatter. I presume ERA will be installed..
