The article states that they have been talking to NZDF and / or MOD regarding this. As far as both the FASC and FAMC are concerned, the requirements included that any platforms that respondents submitted for either RFI, had to have achieved IOC in another military and be certified. No paper planes accepted.
If Airbus wants to have another crack at a Neo MPA then the Continentals will have to be all in. Cannot see it really interesting Pacific rim customers. They will make more headway with an A330 variant as a component of FAMC's strategic requirements.
