Please accept my apologies for not introducing myself much earlier (I have been gabbing on for some time). I am an ex-RAN officer who went on to serve in the merchant navy overseas, now a qualified Master Mariner (just under 19 years in total ‘at sea’ with just over 14 years actually serving on a ship/submarine, I must be mad). Now a regulator.

dear forum members,
to me this forum is the best and user friendly one unlike others .i went to other forums to share my views & thaughts with friends ,but their forum organisation was not good. I feel this forum has what i need. oh by the way i am 19 m from ind ,at present i am an engg std.

Same as Alex at the top, I have been on here a while but never introduced myself to everyone.

30 year old Brit, 2 years into living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. An Accountant by trade working for a certain aerospace and defence company heavily involved in Saudi defence.

In my younger years, I served six years with 14 Regiment Royal Artillery and have a Bachelors degree in European History with Peace and War Studies, as well as now a Masters Degree in Contemporary European History. How I fell into Accountancy along the way is still a mystery!

My main areas of interest are Asian and Middle East Security, the business aspects of the global arms trade and air power - but in all honesty, anything military-orientated tends to grab my attention.

Its a great forum, with some really knowledgeable, insightful members and it's always a pleasure to read. Excellent moderation as well - which makes it in my opinion far superior to anything similar on the web.

Keep up the excellent work.

welcome all. glad to see that the sites seen so positively. although its a delicate line to moderate sometimes - but experience in the past has encouraged web to be far more robust with threads that deviate from the basic rules.
