This is why Turkiye Missiles got traction in Indonesia procurement. This is why Frenchie Salesman always bitching on Turkification when his sales project from MBDA and Thales being replace by Roketsan and Aselsan.

Defenart X put photo of TNI-AD large LCU already launch and in water. The Army call it large LCU but in my opinion it is already closing to Navy LST size.

Thank you for sharing.
Here some pictures during construction

FWIW ADRI LCI and ADRI LCII are called LST and they are at 2500 metric tonnes DWT. Perhaps it's just the media using the wrong terminology?

I believe for this L type, TNI-AD call it as LCU (Landing Craft Utility). This is been said by them since the first L type. Seems all media, and enthusiasts forums also call it LCU.

In the ceremony they call it LCU, seems it is the classification they give for this L type.

Base on the number, it is seems the L type is different classification then their previous logistics vessels. Photos from Keris FB.

(shrug) Then the Indonesian Army is being inconsistent with their terminology.
This article from the Indonesian Army's official website describes the ADRI LI and LII as LST.

This Jawa Pos article also calls ADRI LI and LII as Landing Ship Tank.

It is true that the new ADRI LIII is described as LCU despite being bigger and heavier than the LI and LII which were described as LST.

The most likely explanation is that the Indonesian Army doesn't really care about naval terminology and just uses whatever the current army chief says. :)

Maybe they think
"LST is only for tanks" + "LCU is for everything" ==> LCU is bigger than LST ==> ADRI LIII is an LCU.
