It appears he is still playing the role of a Monty Python character, haha.I am not sure exactly what point he is making though
On a serious note, he is repeating the now daily programming that Ukraine should not seek peace right now, but should hold out for a few weeks instead and then make daily gains pushing Russians out all the way until Russia collapses via economic breakdown. The answer to his question whether he is missing something is probably yes, he is, I would think. And the character is strong with that one:
It appears he still is a comedian. I do not think his political views are important at all, but it surely peaks the bizarro world we live in, of which here are few examples.John Cheese used to be a comedian, his political views are hardly important.
Bizarro world:
Reality of “told journalists on Feb 12”:

And reality today:
Of course, this is also accompanied by the reality of the last Russian strike, for example:
I count 20 Iskander-M there. So the 35 interceptors that Ukraine may or may not get (it is likely no for 35, in my opinion) is not enough to defend against that one attack in the “best” case scenario. Then we can look at the monthly totals broken down by missiles used:
I am sure someone, by looking at that chart, will come up (or already have) with the conclusion that Russia is running out of missiles. But.. we are not even half a month into February yet and Russia had already used 70 or more ballistic Iskanders. So those maybe-35 advertised are good for bringing down about a quarter of those in the average “best” case scenario? Good thing they learnt to bring down three quarters of Kh-22s with no interceptors at all (see one of my recent post above). Also lucky to have this going in the bizarro world, otherwise things would be a lot worse:
In the meantime, also in bizarro world:
The real world:
Britain's hypersonic challenge: Strategic opportunities and risks - Council on Geostrategy
William Freer explains what hypersonics weapons are, why countries want them and the British development and use cases for such systems
Some experts get carried way away too:
But in the real world:
Highest rank officials prefer the bizarro side of things as well:
25 Russians for each Ukrainian in Ukrainian offensive… What a world to live in! Over 200 vessels have been taken out of action! Imagine saying this as the Defense Secretary of a serious country?! He is not alone though:
34,000 Russian soldiers killed in December alone! According to Stubb. But wait, there is more delusion in that wolrd:
It actually is super impressive in the bizarro world when each Ukrainian kills about 40 rounded Russians before being killed himself! Imagine killing 65,000 Russians every two months and 25 Russians for every Ukrainian loss in the offensive (!), yet being stressed about peace talks and Russia basically not giving a shit. But hey, when in the bizarro world… Is there more? Of course there is. For example, one of my personal favourites when in need of a laugh:
Imagine saying that ^ while Sikorsky of Poland, at the same forum, talking about Russia choosing to be a vassal of China (because of importing Chinese goods) instead of western partnership (and importing goods from the EU)! And I am even going to skip the world wars, other cooperation, etc because… well, Kallas. But North Koreans actually fighting Ukrainians in Russia? Millions of shell provided by the same party and another, as well as others? Shaheds/Gerans? Or, perhaps, this, in the real world:
Wait, isn’t there the/an axis? Am I missing something? (C) John Cleese
Is there more? Of course there is! That would be enough for one post though and one day worth of “news”. Well, one last thing referring to the blast from the past, but fits extremely well into the theme here:
It is no wonder old John Cleese would be confused. He is certainly not alone.
I think the issue is bringing up some particular strike from 2.5 (?) years ago and claiming the death of some admiral that actually didn’t happen, accompanied by never responding to the follow-up questions, challenges, or requests for sources of (fake) information, that is not just a (bizarre) personal opinion. And that is not a even trend but a habit.A lot of Ukrainian missiles have hit a lot of buildings, ships, etc. Haven't you been paying attention?
@rsemmes, I will try to reply to your post tomorrow or day after (where you didn’t agree with my good read suggestion). We will have Russian propaganda meets Russian propaganda, it looks like.
