Wonder what the RAAFvhas done with the ASRAAM?
Could they be used by the Armys NASSAMs?
If NASSAM can fire AIM 9X, asraam should be possible? Or will the F35s use them?
1. Sent them back to the UK and since forwarded onto Ukraine (allegedly).
2. No. They are not integrated. Perhaps they could be, or perhaps that money and effort is better spent on just buying more AIM-9X warstock…
3. It can’t. No it isn’t possible because ASRAAM has not been integrated on NASAMS, no the F-35A’s don’t use them as (we don’t have them) and they have not been integrated on F-35A, either.

Presumably this means that The Precision Strike Missile has been chosen for the Land Based Anti Ship Missile Project and these launchers are for that???
Gives Australia a total of 90 HIMARs launchers which is a very big force.Screenshot 2025-10-01 at 09.00.34.png

Interesting what the numbers add up to.

Also interesting that we will have more long range fires than SPGs.
Even allowing for a coastal battery.
Does that mix look appropriate?

Well, if we are going to have coastal batteries, then I think having himars is a good choice, because they can be used as well, himars as well!
What I find a bit strange is how are the coastal batteries going to work?
I would love to see some doctrine.
Wonder if arty will provide their own "infantry" to protect them?
And if so, how many?,if they are dropped off as area denial, they could be in situ for months doing absolutely nothing! Maybe some decoys could be made as well....

Lots of questions

I can envisage great change in unit structure going forward

Not sure what that looks like, but presumably very different compared to the past.

Probably a good thing.

It’s a new request. If it were an increase in an existing request, it would say so. As they did on the Javelin LWCLU FMS announcement,

They are seeking pricing for HIMARS to inform the decision making process for Project LAND 8113 Phase 2, the decision for which is reputedly being announced in November.

Good point.
One possibility is they haven't made a decision on the Anti-Ship missile choice and this is just getting the approvals in place, in case Precision Strike Missile is chosen. Although I am not sure if they have put FMS requests in place, in the past, when they haven't even decided whether they want to buy that piece of equipment?

They have, the most “infamous” was the extra 12x Super Hornets that were listed, at one point even though there was no publicly known requirement to expand the RAAF Super Hornet fleet. I suspect when completing their briefs for approvals, that pricing makes a substantial part of that brief and there is no more authoritative source on pricing than a formal letter of request.

Considering there is also a $15m US Congressional limit where notifications aren’t even required if requests are below that, I suspect there are multiple US defence equipment types and services we have acquired that have never been revealed publicly.

Is there any update as to how the 1st, 3rd and 7th Brigade restructuring is progressing.

Little info about since 2023.
Surely It must be taking shape now.

Acknowledge some key equipment is pending such as Redback and Huntsman.

Plus the new kit for 10th Brigade

Add to the mix

Landing Craft Medium

First is meant to enter next year.
Any update

Cannot see anything about making a physical start on vessel one.

The prototype seemed to come to nothing.

Nice CGI image and some basic stat’s…….but!

Anyway LCM and LCH are interesting and much needed projects

News welcomed

Cheers

Word is difficulties with the design and production-isation may see first deliveries pushed back to 2028…
