The tail flukes of a whale to be precise. Well the train driver would've been happy about it. If I was him I'd be going out and buy some of those Euro millions lottery tickets.

A man in Germany has given 1500 toiletpaper rolls to his wife as Christmas gift, with a total value of around €500.
With this gift eternal love is guaranteed.....well, for at least the coming 6-7 years.

DPRK version of "real" Lord of the rings. The movie is better then Jackson trilogy and the stories line more entertaining then Tolkien ones. Comrade Kim is really the ultimate stories telling.

we keep getting back to politics but is anyone else amazed that the Liberal primary is dropping in Victoria of all places. After the all the vic state gov issues from COVID lockdowns falsely claimed to be on medical advice, all the scandals, through to the massive debt being run up …I’m amazed by this.
Potentially the loss in ALP primary vote was artificially high as a reaction to inflation. If you look back in history, when it hits you end up with one term governments from a public frustrated and a government unable to spend their way out of it. Between that and maybe the fallout of the referendum, there was a lot of focus on the ALP and the PM (beta-male etc). Since late February this has changed with an increased focus on the Coalition as a preferred govt as the polls told us a change was possible.

As a Victorian I'm well aware I live in the most socially progressive state in Australia, and I would contest that in this state there is a perception that the LP/LNP has moved too far to the right and needs to shift to win back the seats lost here to the teals. The 11% sounds likely as Victorians turned the focus to the potential PM, and didn't like what they really saw.

I'm not saying I like it one way or another but that is my gut feel. The election was lost when it was called as a trend was on and there isn't much harder then swimming upstream/ or pi$$ing into the wind- use your own terminology but hopefully you get my point.

Now please msg me if you want to discuss and I'm contradicting my own previous post regarding the merits of energy policy vs this discussion of politics.

Japanese SAR-units have rescued the same climber from the slopes of Mount Fuji twice in less than a week time.

The 27-year-old man, a chinese student living in Japan, was first rescued on Tuesday after falling ill, Shizuoka prefectural police told CNN on Monday. He had to be rescued again on Saturday after returning to the mountain to retrieve his belongings, including a cell phone, that he had left behind, they said.

Hopefully he had the chance to collect his belongings, if not he may try to climb Fuji for the third time...

Altitude sickness? On Fuji-san? I don't think he should be climbing mountains if he suffers altitude sickness that low. Potosi (a city) is higher, & a few hundred thousand live there. I've skied almost as high as Fuji's summit - & there were plenty of others skiing away from that ski-lift, enjoying the excellent snow & feeling fine.

I've seen someone suffering from altitude sickness at 4000m, in Potosi, but she was the only tourist I was aware of having problems, & she wasn't a mountain climber. Though she was Swiss. ;)
