What I find strange for this particular Red Flag with the RAAF contingent is that they are only sending a pair of C-130Js. No Classic Hornets or the Rhinos?.
govt has put the blinkers on all int'l events, so it could be due to fiscal mgt issues

Perhaps most of the jets are preparing for the Pitch Black.
We had 7 Hornets and a Wedgetail at Red Flag in January. We don't send a full contingent to EVERY Red Flag exercise. It's not as if there is only 1 per year...

He has 'almost' seen the error of his ways. He has deleted F-22 and said they were FA18 Hornets
I will await and hope for third time lucky

Labotomies to keep you sane? Or is that insane because you're still here???

:D
Better a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy. With GF it might be a little from column A, and a little from column B...

Aust Army CH-47Fs

Does anyone have any up-to-date info on what's happening with the seven CH-47Fs Army is buying?

I was expecting to have seen some news on rollouts/deliveries by now, but DMO and Boeing are being very quiet...

Yes I saw that earlier today, interesting to see AU-2 with 2OCU markings, I thought the first squadron of aircraft were all destined for 3 Sqn with 2OCU to follow on around 2020.

What I did think was funny was the 'negative' comment some wally wanker made:

Adrian said: "Shame it is such a defective, poorly performing aircraft. Is the Collins submarine of the skies. Overpriced and easily defeated be the Russian and Chinese fighters. No wonder the federal government is cutting services all over the place. Waste of our money".
He must be reading way too much APA and ELP anti F-35 propaganda!!

or the person has NFI what they are on about.
There's a solid army of them out there, don't worry about that!

Seriously though a great milestone today for the RAAF. We're on the right track for the future, I really feel it. You can say what you want about the gov but the F-35 side I feel they handled well and with solid commitment and direction.

Same people who would tell a brain surgeon on how to operate on a human brain!
Have a look at the quotes on any youtube clip regarding anything defence related
It always gets dumbed down to school yard mentality

Actually it doesn't really bother me anymore about the tossers that keep making all the negative comments, I just laugh, they can cry and bleat all they like, it's not going to make a difference.

At least from an Australian perspective the decision to acquire enough F-35A's to replace all the Classics is done and dusted, unlike what appears to be happening in other countries, like Canada for example, with its political indecision in what to do.

I think one of the important things to remember here, is that both sides of politics have had their turn in Government over the last dozen years, both have no doubt had access to all the classified information available to them and both sides are on the same page when it comes to the F-35.

If you remember back a couple of months ago when the PM announced the go ahead for the next 58 F-35A's, Bill Shorten was asked (I think it was the ABC) about the decision and 'all those Billions of dollars' to be spent and he came out 100% in support of the decision, it was almost like he reading from the Government's script on the decision!!!

I'm sure there is no doubt that we will see some more 'bumps in the road' (such as the recent engine fire problem) before development ends and possibly into early squadron service, but that's the nature of the beast when a new aircraft, with new technology, is introduced.

Anyway, as for the anti F-35 brigade, they can bleat and moan all they like!!

Agreed! One thing is for sure ,the more JSF that come into service the louder the cry of "its a dud" will be heard from the nay sayers. One thing is for sure , you have problems with anything that has moving parts and is computer related. Some people just fail to see that and it become a "black and white" or "right and wrong" debate.
