There is a big tab in the center. One side has the SSJ and the sign Civil Aircraft and the other side has a Flanker and the sign Combat Aircraft. Click on the sign Combat Aircraft.

S-37(Su-47) is a flying laboratory and will never be in series.
Also there are different news and different views on the problem of 5 generation fighters and according to different resources there two possibilities
1 - two types of fighters (heavy Su and light MiG)
2 - only one type but in different modifications.

what about stealth technologies - RAF stealth technology is not a special form of the aircraft but a special painting which reduces it's radar visibility by absorbing radiosignals.

also some pictures of PAK FA project really looks like F-22 =))))

the technology of engines for F-35 was taken from Yak-141 (it was offiicially bought) - at least this info was very helpful for Lockheed-Martin

Finally I managed to get hold of the Mig's Stealthy Scat diagram. The 1 that was released didn't show much. This 1 shows the UCAV to be very stealthy.

Whats the point of your post? Not only is it in the wrong thread, I think its baiting. Does those UCAV's in operation yet?

Just because it looks like the other "stealth" UAVs doesn't mean it will be though. There is a lot more to stealth than the shape, though it is a good start.

Official: Russian defense hit by lending crisis

A senior Russian Cabinet official said Tuesday the country's defense industries have been crippled by the financial crisis and called on state banks to provide more funding.

The comments by Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov come as the Kremlin pushes a 25 percent increase in defense spending next year, earmarking billions of dollars on new weaponry for the country's aging armed forces.

Many Russian defense plants have suffered a dire cash shortage, making it difficult for them to fulfill government orders for new weapons, Ivanov said in televised remarks.

"The current global financial problems have badly affected some defense industry plants," Ivanov, who is in charge of military industries, told a government meeting. "The situation could become quite painful for the industry."

Ivanov blamed bankers for trying to profit from the industries' desperate situation by raising interest rates. He said the government should order state-controlled banks to give loans to defense plants.

The global financial crisis has made many Russian banks reluctant to lend money to industries, and the government has injected billions of dollars into the banking system to try to unfreeze the credit situation.

Even before the crisis, the Russian defense industries have suffered from years of brain drain and the loss of key technologies resulting from post-Soviet economic meltdown.

Industry experts warned that aging industrial equipment, the shortage of qualified personnel, and the lack of components could jeopardize the Kremlin's ambitious military modernization tasks.

Experts say the degradation of Russian weapons industries may also undermine the government's hopes to expand arms sales to global markets.

It will be interesting to see what happens to plants like NAPO, that just can't seem to get their act together. Though I'd imagine giants like UVZ, KnAAPO, and IAPO, should come out relatively unscathed as most of their contracts are long term.

I heard that india will be developing the composites for the plane. In that scenario I think the plane will be smaller than the Flankers. one of the bigest problems with flankers is their size with that size the have a huge RCS and show up on the radar.

there will be two versions =) for Russia and for India. But Russian plane must be fully done with Russian materials and must be 100% produced in Russia.

Is that official or just your guess? And if it's official can you toss me a link please? Thanks.

That huge size RCS has been reduced to an F 16 size RCS with the SU 35BM. It shows that there are more than 1 way to get around a problem.

Sukhoi looks like they are on their way to creating a 5th generation aircraft with the PAK-FA but what ever happened to MiG? I know the 1.42/1.44 was intended as a demonstrator but has MiG developed this project further or have they created another one?

I could be mistaken, but IIRC Sukhoi and MiG have partnered together to work on the PAK-FA, with something like 2/3rd Sukhoi and 1/3rd MiG for the design work.

Aside from that, I do not recall hearing much about new developments by MiG. Most of what they have been up to as I recall has been doing upgrades of existing MiG-29's to higher/more advanced variants.

-Cheers
