Many thanks.Yep, you're right diesel it is. Though the Abrams will be supported by our 8 tonne Macks with the aviation refuelling kit - because its the only offroad fueller in the Army with the capacity to support Abrams.

I've handled the first 2 prototypes (no discharging though) and I had some involvement with MS on another project.Any feedback/sugestions/critisism/praise?
You will go to Duntroon, then you will go to the ADF basic flight training school and fly CT-4B's. Then you will go to Army's helo training school and do a helo conversion course and fly Kiowa's. Then you will do an advanced course on Kiowa's. Then you will do type conversion onto Blackhawks, Chinooks, MRH-90 or Tigers and after flying them for a while you'll do a battle captain's course...Hi, well this is seemilngly the best place to put it, I diddn't want to start up a thread. I might enlist as a Tiger Pilot, will I go directly to tigers after training or will i have to dilly dally my way around blackhawks and kiowa's?
I have done a bit of reading as to what I can expect, it looks like a pretty tough selection course, I have a genuine interest in flying Helo's for the Army and im up for anything lifestyle wise. However, I have not done math B in school only A, can I do a university bridging course to satisfy that requirment?
I understand that you can be a pilot or a battle captain...I understand they are like the gunner/commander of the aircraft...do I have to be a pilot to be a battle captain? You will go to Duntroon, then you will go to the ADF basic flight training school and fly CT-4B's. Provided you get through all of that...
You have to be a pilot BEFORE you can become a Battle Captain, as I understand the system...I understand that you can be a pilot or a battle captain...I understand they are like the gunner/commander of the aircraft...do I have to be a pilot to be a battle captain?
Unlikely, but if they are, Navy will no doubt have plenty of positions. Flying a Seahawk loaded up with Penguin ASM's would be an interesting experience I reckon...Yeah I downloaded some stuff on it...Im thinking about doing it in 2 years (work contract expires then)...will all the positions filled by them?
Yeah I have a friend who fly's em'. He loves it but the navy just isn't my thing...not that I have a problem with the Navy, my interest is not there...Unlikely, but if they are, Navy will no doubt have plenty of positions. If I had my time over again and was going to make ADF a career, I think Navy probably would have been my choice...
ASLAV's have had the Protector RWS fitted since 2005. We have around 44x systems in-service as they aren't obviously fitted to the ASLAV-25 variant... Some are operating the Mk 19 40mm AGL in Iraq, though pics are scarce, for some reason...Yeah I have a friend who fly's em'. oh btw, when were/are the RWS being installed on the Bushmasters and ASLAV's in Iraq/Afghanistan.
Has the ADF trailed either the Nemo or AMOS on the ASLAV or bushmaster?

Are we buying anymore RWS or was it a one time aquisition? If we are not buying anymore RWS for the bushmaster is someone designing/redesigning the exposed turret on it?
Depends which "RWS" you are referring to.Are we buying anymore RWS or was it a one time aquisition? If we are not buying anymore RWS for the bushmaster is someone designing/redesigning the exposed turret on it?

Geesh you get a few perks mate! Involvement with SSk's, personal weapons systems... What do you guys do anyway?I've handled the first 2 prototypes (no discharging though) and I had some involvement with MS on another project.
Personally I hated both prototypes. Balance was off, and the furniture was pretty ho hum.
I've only seen the schemers close up for the 3rd prototype (which is like a pregnant Austeyr)
All 3 prototypes are completely different.
Yeah I've seen a couple of photos over the years of the Mk 19 on the ASLAV's, but only said earlier that they are scarce. Not non-existent...Try these, ASLAV-PC second from left has a 40mm AGL and the second image shows a close-up of the RWS with aforesaid 40mm AGL............BOTH images from the DoD............
