these ships are so obsolete, not sure who would want them?2 Kotor class frigates transferring from Tivat to Bar, pictures taken today by an member of ABG forum.
The Kotors are still alive and kicking
I wonder where they going to get money to buy two naval helicopters, if this is what we are talking about. Unless Italy donates some B212's.Completed end of the 80s IIRC, so the Kotors can still be useful for a while. The one part though that makes me sceptical is the helo pad - the hull is hardly wide enough to allow helos to land, unless we are talking about light ones (such as AB206 or Alouette sized).
cheers
never heard of lora class>>> ? do you have more info ???Highly unlikely. The first reason is that the Croatian navy will not operate submarines for the foreseeable future. The second is that those subs are probably in a very, very bad condition and third, Velebit is a modified p.911 class sub, it would make more sense to get some of those and upgrade them. If we need a modern, domestically built SSK, we should(if we could) build the Lora class SSK. Those subs were meant to be around 1000-15000 tonns in displacement and enter service in the 90s, armed with Exocet SSMs and torpedoes. Since BSO Split , which is still alive and kicking, did all of the submarines in the Yugoslavia, I guess there are
design documents still alive.
