I know that the US restricts ship builds from foreign countries, but I am reading that they are relaxing these rules (looking at Korea and Japan for frigate builds). Once we establish production, could the US and GB lean on our production capabilities, if this was a potential it could seriously offset the costs of our establishment.

Still quite a while before everyone agrees to that.
More likely AOR and sealift ships built overseas. So doing so may free up more US yard capacity for military combatants.
A trial class or test class is allowable. Parts are allowable. Particularly if it accelerated assembly. US wants forgien builders to have yards in the US to bring their techniques, experience and capabilities to the US.
I guess we will get a lot of maintenance work with the FBW rotational fleet, but will Australia get much or any coin doing maintenance on the US and GB submarines?

10 ECape have been delivered to RAN already, this is the first of 11 for ABF for Q4 2026 delivery with I think another one due in Q1 2027.
I believe 3 or 4 are at various stages of construction with another 2 ordered recently.
In service currently between RAN/ABF/Other
10 Cape (20 yo service = 2033-2037 decommissioning)
10 ECape
+11 ECape by 2030/31
