Then I would assume it is the Chinese version? Which apparently is meant to be a high-pressure version for there 3rd Gen. DU rounds which are meant to be very good, 850mm RHA, Western sources state, Chinese state 960mm.

If they are using 48 caliber length barrels then yes they are Ukrainian design, China does not produce a 48 caliber length barrel, smallest Chinese 125 mm would be 50 caliber.

Post number 54 by Piya says just that. Current Al-Khalids are using 48 caliber gun. and you say it is one of the two best guns ? Not bad eh ? Lol.

i thought the researchers were working on AL-KHALID 2 as mentioned by "yess" not the al-khalid -1 .

also good thing you guys are changing electronics coz chinese electronics are rubbish ( telling you from my personal experiences with chinese products) .

China uses alot of western influence when it comes to FCS and sighting systems on their MBT`s, has Al-khalid 1 shown any dismall performance in the turret electronics category, it most likely is a design upgrade to make it a even better performer.

After the completion of approximately 600 Al Khalid MBTs (Almost Done ), the next phase will be to produce even more modified Al Khalid MBTs called Al Khalid 1.

Al Khalid 2 is quite a different tank.

Word is around that Al Khalid 1 is already being tested as of now as work on Al Khalid 2 is progressing exceptionally well and well ahead of schedule.


....and next time try to buy an "expensive" Chinese electronic. :lol2

Yes - it is a good performer and they should most definetly also use it on Al-Khalid 2.

Working on both. AK-1 is the modified/modernized/upgraded version of the current Al-Khalid Tanks. Its prototype was handed over to Pakistan Army some months back. Al-Khalid 2 is completely different Tank. AK-2 prototype will be rolled out in 2019.
