Sorry for the late reply.

I keep getting logged out after a while, I don't know why. Also, maybe it would be better if the posts were ordered from oldest to newest.

Thanks :)

Funny, I realised I never put anything in here...

I'm 29, non-military, but very much interested in military & defence issues, Born in Melbourne but family moved back to CT, and looking to see if can move back. Just need to make sure don't find myself in need of a Green Card.

Welcome to everybody !

It could be a good idea if the administrators/moderators could provide a few statistics, such as for example country of origin data, percentage of military professionals, ...

cheers

I will try to get something latest/recent posted there soon.
You can't really tell who is professional until they come forward and say it or their email addresses are from .mil domains, there are many who are from military but do not post.

Hi all my nick name is moosey, I am interested in the military and in particular I am interested in all things related to metalstorm, I am invested in MST and have been for many years now, I find the technology very interesting and believe it will be part of the future weaponry used in the future, I have previously served in the Armed forces for about 5 years in Light Armour ( 4/19 PWLH), I had some great times and met some really nice friends who will remain so for life.:)

Thanks Aussie Digger, I started my days as an assault trooper in an M113, and being a big bloke, I ended up carrying the GPMG M60, I can tell you it was a heavy SOB,it was many years ago now,we still had Staghounds and Ferrets in those days as well, the ferrets were great, they went just as fast in reverse as they did moving forward or it seemed like it LOL, but I still remember it vividly, I ended my days in the Q store, I still keep in touch with some friends I met in those days and we get together on the odd occasions and chew the fat over a couple of frothys.

Cheers Moosey

my first job as a kid was as a TA fixing Landrovers. We customised one of the SIIA's by adding in a Ferret gearbox and transfer case - and you're right, they're just as fast in reverse with the right kit... ;)

Welcome to DefenceTalk Moosey!

The PM function is disabled for members less than 50 posts. We were forced to implement this restriction to control spam. :)

Enjoy!

Hi, new here. I am a Chinese Canadian, and has studied as a hobby the sino chinese war for 10 years or so. I consider myself a chinese nationalist, not necessary identified with the government in power. In other words, proud to be of my chinese heritage, but don't equate communist china with china.
My first question for all you patriots out there: we know the imperial japan was bad, causing the death of some 10-15 million chinese during the war, so no question about it, they are bad!
Now then, communism in china cost at least a few times more the loss of lives through callousness or just bad mangemnet, so are they a greater enemy to the chinese people?
