Hi Sam, interesting user name you have here. I'm sure coming from Singapore, you might be aware of what your user name means in malay. Anyways like you, I too am interested in military matters of SEA, though that said I've never had the opportunity or desire to be apart of the armed forces. I subsribe to Janes Defence Weekly and this is pretty much to the extent of my knowledge of the military.

Hello all, my name is lewis, I have joined defencetalk to try and find info on military vehicles. I am currently negotiating the purchase of a decom Vzor 77 DANA, a Czechoslovakian 152mm self propelled gun on a Tatra T815 chassis (check out the picture) and would be very grateful if there was anyone who could offer some expertise, there arent any in the UK yet and most seem to be in active service so its hard to get advice, I've tried to P.M a deftalk member called tatra (with a name like that he sounded like a good option) but that service seems to be restricted (because im a new member?). if anyone out there can help please post up or email me.

Welcome to DefenceTalk. Good to have you on board. The PM system is disabled for members with less than 50 posts as we had very bad experience in the past with people using PM system to send spam messages, etc.

Yes indeed it's good to see this site becoming more international ! Not that I'm not happy to talk military affairs with our Australian and American friends , but a wider representation ensures many more issues to be discussed and more points of view. I'm happy
