SIPRI report on Indonesia order and Contract (not all SIPRI report already in effective contract), already circulating in Indonesian forums. What I would like to focus is order for 32 GE F-414 and 24 Honeywell F-124 turbofan.

This translate to 16 KF-21 and 12 M-346. The talk and rumours indicating 3 tranches of KF-21 and 2-3 tranches of M346FA order. Thus despite the talk of Su-35, J-10B/CE, the order/contract/money trails so far only shown one additional MRCA (after Rafale) and one type LCA.

M346FA is to replace Hawk 209/109 which before replace A-4 Skyhawk as LCA. T-50i is replacing Hawk Mk53 which before replace L-29 Deflin. So the path is different, and why the choices goes to M346FA instead FA-50 as LCA, well that's another matter.

Is there potential another assets that being order or contracted without SIPRI knowledge. Could be, but seems and agency like SIPRI already in the game too long, that they can sniff potential defense procurement trails.
Really don't get the M346. From capability standpoint, FA50 seems like a better choice on paper. In addition, the fact that there is a squadron of TA50 makes training and ramp up easier, one would think.

Totally agree, besides that maintenance on the FA-50 will be also much more cost effective with the single GE F404 engine.
I simply can't believe that the M346 is so much more advanced than the FA-50.

Two EC725 CSAR helicopters in action. This is one of the many reasons why TNI-AU doesn't need another type of SAR-helicopter, like the EH-101.

I still don't understand why OPM is branded as an 'armed criminal group', and not as an terrorist organization, after so many attacks on civilian infrastuctrure, workers and villagers. This is not the first time a civilian aircraft is demolished and the aircrew is abducted/murdered.

Because Indonesia Administration want to put the operation as anti-criminal, just like US and Mexico done with Cartels. Put them as terrorist can be seen the operation is against more then criminal intents gank.

The rumours on this getting louder. It is also shown indication it will be J-10B with upgrade to CE standard. The fast availability and AL-31 engine that drove this. Rumours also talk further order of J-10B/CE will push potential additional Flankers our, as it will use the budget that previously prepared for additional Flankers.

Add:

This talk between Lukashenko and Prabowo from my understanding also include defense industry coop, including Aero MRO. AL-31 MRO potentially among that. This again strengthen rumours why J-10B being choose (aside China want to get rid of them, in relatively cheaper price tag).

Put it in this thread, not Turkish AF thread, as to shown why Indonesia procurement agreement have condition precedence on availability of TF35000 engine. Relying on F110 will be hard for export license. Even getting for Turkiye own use still getting opposition in US Congress.

Trump already support the F110 export for KAAN. Thus getting this democrats initiative to block will be hold down on partisan issue. Still this shown why rellying for US engine for export, is still hard to achieve.

13. Perjanjian kerja sama rudal udara-ke-udara antara Bharat Dynamics dan Republic Corp.
There are 16 items being signed between Modi and Prabowo. In this thread, I will focus on item #13, which stated Bharat Dynamics and Republikorp on collaboration toward Air to Air missile.

Bharat Dynamics is second company after Roketsan that Republikorp makes agreement for cooperation on missile. With Roketsan it is JV to build 2 type of SSM (Atmaca and Cakir) and 2 type of SAM (Hisar and Sungur). With Bharat Dynamics it is going to be Astra, which also India first BVR Missile.

It is expected Astra will be put in TNI-AU Su-30Mk2, but whether it can be integrated to Rafale, will depend with India agreement with France. I do suspect potential compatibility of Astra with Rafale due to India-France agreement is main attraction for Indonesia to assign Republikorp on missile coop for Astra.

Question remain with missile industrial coop with Roketsan and now Bharat Dynamics, where Republikorp missile facilities will be ? Rumours say it will be in Batam, but no where to be seen development on that.

3 Male UAV program in Indonesia and all in paper still running. LEN DID 3.11 BLOS, DI Elang Hitam (Black Eagle) and Info Global WANI-23. LEN and DI MALE UAV already conduct test flight, while Info Global ones, rumoured going to have their test flight soon.

With talks on UAV license production for TAI ANKA and Bayraktar TB3, the claim so far it will not change development momentum for all domestic UAV. In fact the license productional experiences and tech transfer will be use to enhance local MALE UAV.

Still Indonesia defense development already littered with prototypes that not progressing toward production stages. Remain to be seen if all three program will cross that line.

Photos from LEN, DI and Info Global official pages.

LEN DID 3.11 BLOS, DI Elang Hitam and Info Global WANI-23. .... and then we have the IPTN Wuling. Is that project cancelled or still ongoing btw? I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a UAV fleet with all types/models above + on top of that the Aerostar, CH-4B, Anka and TB3. (Excluding what the army and navy use)

40 years strategic partnership with Bell (photo from DI FB pages). Means Bell 412 will stay as helicopter mainstay for TNI. There will be occasional Airbus, Sikorsky or Leonardo AW. However the bulk will still come from Bell 412. Well at least that's the way I see it. Politically anything that work out by DI still got priority, eventough their productivity is still left question mark.

and then we have the IPTN Wuling. Is that project cancelled or still ongoing btw?
Wulung UAV still ongoing project (mind you it is Wulung, not Wuling which is Chinese Car Brand;)). However Wulung is not MALE UAV, for that I do believe the future prospect of Wulung will not be as high profile Elang Hitam MALE UAV. Still Wulung officially still in DI product line on their website, thus clearly shown they are still working on both drone project.

From Keris FB, shown where the spare parts for Su-30Mk2 being source from. Indication that it is not Belarus that provide loop hole for exporting Russia Defense items (at least for Indonesia case). Interesting also UAE and Qatar where financing for Turkiye defense export coming from.

Not put it in Turkiye AF thread, but in here. As the question will be, will the similar armament set up will be the same ?

This is the answer why LCA choices seems going to M346FA and not FA-50. Pairing M346FA and Kizilelma is the choices that seems Indonesian MinDef aim to have. BVR for both of them also being shown by Leonardo and Baykar.

Will Indonesia that's going to have industrial agreement with India's Astra BVR, going to get approval from Leonardo and Baykar to integrate them?

If the reason to choose the M346FA is to just pair it with the Baykar Kizilelma, then why not waiting for the TAI KAAN?

If the reason to choose the M346FA is to just pair it with the Baykar Kizilelma,
TAI KAAN is still long shoot no matter the media or internet enthusiats call. Turkiye engine condition precedences in my opinion still become significant 'what if' scenario. The sign shown US opposition on sending engines for Turkiye domestic use still there, let alone let Turkiye use that for export.

Beside the choice is for LCA, and between M346FA and FA-50, the former one compatibility with Baykar drones is I suspect one of main reason.

It is just weird that Turkiye didn't developed a Hürjet + Kizilelma combination, or South-Korea FA-50 + KUS-FS.
Now potential customers have to go for a Italian jet-trainer with american engines + Turkish UCAV with Ukrainian engine combination....

But if we have to wait for KF-21 + Elang Hitam we have to wait until 2045-2050... at least.

Hurjet is TAI products, and I believe TAI already announced their plan to paired Hurjet with their own Anka 3 drones.

While Baykar choose to work with Leonardo on their drones and fighter wingman concept. It is just part of commercial team up. Remember Baykar relationship with Italian Aerospace also reflected on their acquisition on Piagio Aerospace.

As why Indonesia choose M346FA over Hurjet and even FA-50, the answer back to marketing lobby which financing package competitiveness is main part of it. This M346FA and Kizilelma wingman pairing in my opinion part of main reason, but still below marketing lobby. It is big plus factor.

Besides Both Italia and Turkiye lobby cloud in Indonesia defense procurement is also increasing. Remember FMP current batch basically using Leonardo and Aselsan combo system and weapons that can work out with Roketsan missiles. Something that irked many euro lobbyist (aka salesmen) including Frenchie salesman in his channels.

Government will move DI to Kertajati Airport. This as plan to make Kertajati as Aerospace Industrial hub. Present facility in Bandung will be maintain as R&D center, while production move to Kertajati.

In Paper it is better facilities with already existing larger and longer runway then Bandung City Airport where presently DI located. Question remain on how big the investment will be. Seems the plan to bring US/LM to build MRO center for C-130 is part of that.

It is understandable if the C-130 MRO center will be built at Kertajati, but to move also the whole production unit (of parts of it) to Kertajati is such a waste of money, after all investments in Husein Sastranegara. There are still empty buildings at BDO, unused since the '90s. And imagine the daily struggle for the employees to get to Kertajati.

Hopefully nobody grabs the opportunity to come with the idea to build a whole new city for the thousands of employees, just in order to spend a huge amount of money.

But they will build new city in Kertajati. That's the base of whole plan. To build Aero Industry City Park there from MRO, Arostructure, Composite, up to FAL (Final Assembly Line). Thus off course they will build the whole new infrastructure in the Airport Area. This is not a new plan, this Airport blue print is also base on both Airport and other Aero Businesses. The area will not be use only by DI, but also other potential Aero Investors. That's why Kertajati Area in fact comparable to Jakarta Airport.

I believe they will move the equipment or even dismantle some of facilities to reallocate there. The ex DI area is from what I heard (at least some of them) going to be use for enlargement of Bandung City Airport terminal and Plane parking area (ramp/tarmac). DI will only maintain some of their HQ building, IT and Network center. While production will be move to Kertajati.

Add:
Kertajati Airport overall area is around 1800 hectare, while Jakarta Airport is around 2550 hectare. This make base on area size, Kertajati is the second largest after Jakarta Airport.

If only build for Airport, then it is wasted that area size. The Airport activities even now is highly under utilise. The Kertajati blueprint in fact has two runway plan with second runway being build for Aero Industrial complex use.

runway-bandara-kertajati-akan-diperpanjang-hingga-3-500-meter-skN-thumb.jpgkertajati.jpg
So yes, it is being build as Industrial city in mind, and building residential area to support it, is part of that.
