One enthusiats in X id Alphanovember make this latest slide of TNI-AL existing and planned combatan fleet. Some I highlight in light red, as those are the ones so far that not include on latest 41 KRI MLU. Thus indicating will be on exit strategy within few years ahead.

The Submersible drone (KSOT) being talk going to have 30 order and as Italian Parliment dosier talk about 6 DRASS midget submarine. For the midget submarine, it is shown in last year IndoDefence that DRASS and its local partner want to bring DGK Midget submarine version. However it is also rumours that TNI-AL want the version that represent flexibilities of both midget and larger litoral submarines, thus indicating DRASS larger design of DG-900. Frankly speaking if TNI-AL only envisage those midget submarines as choke points defense, then either DGK or DG-900 can be sufficient enough in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder how long KRI Cakra 401 stays in the fleet. The most logic step is to order one more Scorpène class boat, for a balanced 3-3 submarine fleet, instead of a single new submarine type from again a new different supplier and another country, or an old worn out boat from a type/brand TNI-AL never operated, as "INTERIM SOLUTION".

From PAL FB, on what seems the latest iteration on KSOT.

FB_IMG_1772272324975.jpg

There's hatch on top the sail. I don't know whether this is means it is have option to be manned and unmanned. Previously it is said the option is there, but it could also be the hatch for maintenances.

Cakra being said only maintained as training submarine. With the DRASS midget submarine and KSOT underwater drones, I suspect MinDef potentially looking on approach that can provide more quantity but in more affordable approach.

There're rumours that after all 3 209-1400 being satisfactory refurbished, potentially another 209-1400 will be supply by Hanwha Ocean as some materials for that submarine already being prepared by DSME. Personally I suspect some settlement on Batch 2 contract should be reach, or PAL and MinDef must paid some penalty to Hanwha. Something that not politically acceptable.

So in my opinion and considering fiscal pressure that Indonesia now facing, 4 209-1400 (with additional one as Cakra replacement and Batch 2 settlement), 4-6 DRASS (whether DG-550 or DG 900) and 2+2 option Scorpene can be the underwater defense approach that will be taken.

As the interim submarine, the option still there, but so far no Interim options whether for Submarine, Frigates and MRCA//Fighter being finalized, despite all the talk. Still knowing Indonesia, that lobby for Interim assets still there.

Seems most risk assesment to detour KRI Prabu Siliwangi 321 avoiding horn of Africa, and choose instead Cape/South Africa route paid off. Yemenis Houthi already stated they will again attack US and Israeli warships. With that situation, why bother to gamble on newly delivered warship where most of is arnaments still not activate.

Here a video of the event. The new 105 meter long KRI Kanopus 936 has a displacement of 3400 ton, more than a Ahmad Yani Class frigate. The ship has a maximum top speed of 16 knots, accommodate 90 crew, and seems to be equipped with various devices, including Autonomous Mine Detector (AUV), Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) Rosette, Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) Drone, Magnetometer, Multibeam Echo sounder, Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Side Scan Sonar, and Seismic Towed Streamer.

SIPRI'ya göre Endonezya, yerli savaş gemileri için Türkiye'den MİDLAS dikey atım sistemi (2 adet), FERSAH-100-N DSH sonar sistemi (2 adet), AKREP-200-N AKR (4 adet), CENK 400-N radarı (2 adet), SİPER Block-1 füzeleri ve CENK 350-N radarı (2 adet) sipariş etti.
It is not much difference then the schematics for FMP that already circling around from PAL. It will be use Turkish system like Fersah sonar, Akrep 200N, Cenk 350N and Cenk 400N radars. The anti air missile will use Siper Blk 1.

Super Blk 1 Turkey's long-range SİPER Block-1 air defense system with a range of over 100 kilometers has entered service. is also the missile that being told before on Indodefense 2024 going to be use by Trisula Land Base air defence system.

With Indonesia already sign agreement for further 2 Arrowhead 140 as additional FMP Frigate, it is expected FMP Batch 2 will also use combine Turkiye and Italian systems. Siper Blk 1 is the missile that previously call Hisar-U.

All the talk in media so far shown TNI-AL will control the Shore Based Defence missiles, with Marines operating them.

Indonesia has also reportedly shown an interest in used Japanese submarines.
Koizumi now seems want to push more on Defense Export. Indonesia interim submarine program seems now attracting China and Italy on selling their 'surplus' submarine. However TNI-AL Chief also already shown interest with Oyashio class.

Oyashio or Type 39 A as interim choice ? Not that too hard to choose (if logics that prevail and not politics).

LEN show case their latest CMS call Mandhala Mk2, on MinDef event. From what I heard this is aim toward Locally build Patrol Vessels and Light Corvette. LEN also shown their Link ID, which from what I gather developed from Link system developed by Scytalys during their contract with MinDef few years ago.

India Media still claim that Indonesia procured similar deal as Philippines ones. So that's 3 Batteries of USD 300+ mio. Whether it will be in batches or one time deal, will still the development.
Little chance of them getting somehow integrated on Su-30?

India Armed Forces Chief did put the offer on integrating Brahmos toward TNI-AU Su-30. However present contract seems more for Coastal Defence. This should go to TNI-AL/Marines. Whether in the end some will end up with TNI-AU Su-30, so far only theoretically potential.

I do remember on several IndoDefence back, India booth always bring option for Coastal Defence and Air to Ground as Brahmos capabilities. In sense it is always a plausible scenarios, depends on Indonesia choices as customer.

TNI-AL second PPA already in Mauritius. Clearly avoiding middle east and straight through Indies toward back to Asia. From what I gather next port will be Srilanka.

Add:

Keris FB shown the new Oceanography Vessel, KRI Canopus also going to take similar route that KRI Prabu Siliwangi take. Base on the route, seems after Mauritius, it will be straight to Indonesia.

KRI Canopus already leaving Abeking-Rasmussen facility to sail back to Indonesia.

Circulating online already, seems this is the term of condition on transfer agreement for Garibaldi to Indonesia. So by this term PAL and Republikorp will conduct MRO and modification of the Light Carrier in Indonesia. However they will keep maintain relationship with Italian suppliers. Indicating the modification will still involve Fincantieri.

The two OPV 98 already have their main radar being installed. The photo circulated in X from enthusiast with id Markicap. Seems they are also working on other system integration. Both ships already launch more then a year ago, and already having sea trials.

The radar seems still as plan will come from Hendsoldt TRS-4D TRS-4D rotating antenna

The TRS-4D is undoubtedly a good type of radar, but why once again a new kind of radar from a manufacturer TNI-AL has never received radars before, instead radar systems from the same class from HSA/Thales Nederland or Terma?

They want to have AESA with GaN (Gallium Nitride) modul. For that they source it from Hendsoldt (TRS-4D) and Aselsan (Cenk-400). What they source from Thales or Terma are from previous generation non AESA radar system.

So from that perspective, the current generation AESA radar still source from two suppliers. This is why the Frenchie salesman got livid and continue trashing competitors in his channel or social media. Thales equivalent (NS family) lost to Aselsan and even Hendsoldt.
