10 million for a decent fourth generation fighter, not a bad deal. I thought it shared similiarities to an F-16. I guess this will be their big export money maker. You think it will kill sales of Irans indeginous fighter? The one that looks like an F-5.

Speculated price for Export units is $10 to $15 million. Chinese version would be near $15million, while Pakistani might be $20million+ because of the western avionics. Offcourse prices are speculated and will very according to the configuration.
Abt Iranian fighter, I dont think Iran has put it in the export market yet and its progress and quality are unknown. JF-17 sale potential seems higher cause there are lot of countries flying Chinese F-7s. Those who are Chinese customers are listed as potential customers.

China may only buy a few hundred. its main light weight fighter will be the J-10. China does not feel it need this plane.

China plans to induct from 200 FC-1s to 250. With PT-1 and PT-2, PLAAF was no that interested as both prototypes were way too inferior to J-10. But with PT-3, their interest grew and with PT-4 it is quite certain that PLAAF is to induct FC-1/JF-17.

And yes it is a reverse engineered version of f-16. It has a mirage 2000 style intake with a F-18 and F-16 mixed wing style.

Thats the lamest thing I have herd of the project so far. Some features may have been adopted from F-16 because of the Pakistani involvement but by no means it is a reverese engineered F-16. Its intakes are by no angle similar to Mirage2000, but rather inspired by JSF. The F-18 like leading edges were added to have 2 more hardpoints. However, the wings in the pic are not correct.
