Fighter choices
Those F-15s like our F-16s have a lot of hours on the frames so buying second hand Eagles & Vipers from the US wouldn't be a good route unless complete overhauls were involved. Adding on new orders to the back of South Korea's mighty Eagles would be a better route. The later Eagles produced have a little air to ground capabilities as well too, not on the level of E models. Brazil I think is one step closer going with the Rafale's with a slim, slim shot for LM Vipers. For some reason I feel the Americans are out of this bid and the French are going to win by default. Now it comes down to hammering a contract and by now the French have new sales personnel "right" (wink) so things may begin to move forward. Brazil sign on for the sub from France but not the Rafale's so nothing is in stone. Buying the sub and building a nuclear boat down the road seem important to Brazil there navy must have a lot of pull in there government more then the air force it seems. I might be wrong but I don't see a lot of blue water threats for Brazil's navy to deal with. Subs can be nasty little coastal defenders too and not purely for blue water. Is this something to do with the new off shore oil deposits?
