I read through your link.That was included with the TUSK upgrade program I think so if these tanks have been through that or were manufactured to that standard, they'll have the APU.

But i could not find anything about APU, if and when they installed it..?
If this happend like 5-6 years ago.. strange.
KMW just recent started the upgrade with 2A7 variant which has this feature:
Germany receives first Leopard 2A7 MBT - IHS Jane's 360Other significant changes include the installation of an auxiliary power unit to enable all subsystems to be run with the main engine switched off and an air-conditioning system, new drivers hatch, and all-electric gun-control equipment.
Some older Leopard variant had a small APU, but not like this one, which can supply power to all main systems while main engine is off-line.
I'd say this is a game changer, in order to increase range between each refueling.
Every time you make a short or long stop, the Main engine stop and APU take over, and hense reduce fuel consumption.
