They would just roll out the welcome mat to you know who.Not to be political, but the Greens are the last people to have any idea about defence!

Finally, they have been out and about for many months now.Eyre is finally scheduled to commission this Saturday, cheers.
If the old CEA model showed off at the 2023 Avalon Airshow is anything to go off it'd be L band for the large faces and small upwards pointing faces. S band for one or both of the medium sized faces depending on whether X band CEAMOUNT is still intended as part of the suite.Interesting apertures pointing upwards when looking closely. Any idea what band/radar each aperture is going to house at this stage?
This pic is from the BAES Australia FB post and shows the mast prototype in detail.Hunter at Henderson - BAE systems Australia.
Hunter class mast prototype + 4 units

No speaking specifically for the BAE is doing, but normally a prototype is something which is developed/built to test a process, design or concept, prior to serial production in an effort to ensure that every actually works/fits as designed and intended.“The prototyping project will transition into the construction of Ship 1’s mast this year."
Why exactly are they building a prototype, rather than the actual final structure?
Is this a training exercise, akin to 'practicing' for the real thing? In other words, are they learning on the job?
Dunno...What is the skin of the mast made of ?
BAE Systems Maritime Australia’s HCFP Delivery Director – Acquisition Andy Coxall said the local workforce was selected for the mast prototyping project because of its expertise in advanced aluminium manufacturing techniques and building masts for the Anzac frigates.
So now you're being political by replying to yourself? Knock it off. Stick to talking about the RAN and stop yelling at clouds. They would just roll out the welcome mat to you know who.
It's the big shed on the BAE site at the end of the tracks from the synchrolift. Are BAE building the 4 units for the Hunter class at the main CUF Hall?, same location for the LCH build that is supposed to start in the next few months.
Edit - my bad looks like one of the smaller sheds on site.

Yeah, but he is right! LolSo now you're being political by replying to yourself? Knock it off. Stick to talking about the RAN and stop yelling at clouds.
Thanks Old Faithful. I'm supportive of the RAN, just not knuckleheads who want to restrict it from defending us.Yeah, but he is right! Lol
I have always wondered why the masts aren't primarily made of carbon fiber composites rather than aluminum, given the always mentioned "top weight issues". (Anzac's being one)Aluminium
If I had to guess, it would have something to do with the (lack of) resistance to damage of carbon composite (particularly fire) compared to an aluminium structure.I have always wondered why the masts aren't primarily made of carbon fiber composites rather than aluminum, given the always mentioned "top weight issues". (Anzac's being one)
Carbon fiber can be approximately 40% to 50% lighter than aluminum for the same volume, making it ideal for applications where weight reduction is critical.
