Flanker Export Thread

The F-15EX was created to replace the F-15C/D in performing homeland and air defense missions and also serve as an 'affordable' platform for employing large stand-off weapons to augment the frontline F-22 and F-35. But the package offered to Indonesia has such an insanely high pricetag, specially compared to more recent acquisitions like the 32 F-35 for Rumania for 'only' $7,2 billion, it will be unwise to still go for the F-15EX, even when they have some superior flight performance and weaponload compared to the F-35.

So maybe the photosession inside the Su-57 is just for fun and/or a stimulance to the US government to come with a better offer.
Until now we only see wild rumours, speculations and daydreaming of 'insiders and online experts', so lets wait and see what happen in the next 5 years.

There are reports Iran has received their first Su-35SE. If true, it would be a substantial improvement for the Iranian Air Force. And in principle Russian fighter jet production outpaces war losses by a decent margin making it possible to sustain the war effort and export some aircraft.

As I understand, the reasons for the delay was Iranian insistence on some form of production / assemble / tech transfer. Was this resolved?

I imagine it would be an arrangement similar to HAL/India.

I don't have any information to suggest that, the claims of first deliveries involve completed aircraft brought over by An-124 to Iran. We also don't have confirmation yet.

The source appears to be a Flugrevue article, which was written by Babak Tagvhee. He is pretty much anti-Iran regime but is well informed and written various articles on Iranian aviation.

A version of it is found here. As for how reliable, I guess we will need to wait and see.
