Sometimes I'm chuckle my self when reading few Indonesian forums or blogspot. They're all speculating that this is the sign that CH-47 will be coming.

BNPB before rented some Kamov with air droops just like now they're renting CH-47 equipped with that. For me they're just looking for whichever choice they're available with their budget. Their budget being increase to be more proactive in fire extinguisher preparation.

There is a big chance that they not only rent a CH-47 for forest fire fighting, but also to evaluate it. And of course its not a proof that the CH-47 is ordered and will enter Penerbad. Its like the Be-200, just rented, and nothing happen after the usage and return.

If BNPB doing evaluation, it will be for them and not Penerbad or TNI-AU. Still like you say they already rented several fire fighting assets, but it doesn't mean they will take it for their inventory.

BNPB has their own budget, and asset. Thus if they want to operate their own fire fighting assets, they have choices either to procured and maintain in their fleet or just rent them on contract based. This's in my opinion only that.

I didn't know that the Indonesian Army has the Oerlikon GDF-009 in its inventory.
Its quite confusing. Although i see an Indonesian flag, looking to the cars and vegetation/environment i actually doubt this is in Indonesia.
I have the feeling that this is in South-Africa, if im not wrong they planned to upgrade their Oerlikons 35 mm twingun with Skyshield systems.

Perhaps it's a sales demo session. TNI already used Chinese copy of those, but so far no info on they are interested with this. The talk that circulate in media so far for Army Air Defense units is on missile defense systems.

After Type 85 (ZU-23-2 copies) also some Oerlikon GDF copies...
We have such a useless collection of obsolete 2nd grade air defence systems, in small quatities but many different kinds.

I wonder if TNI-AU already received the second order of Oerlikon Skyshield.

I'm fairly sure the flag isn't the Indonesian flag but a "live-fire perimeter warning" flag under Swiss law (video is by Rheinmetall Zürich aka Oerlikon), the balloons serve the same purpose.

Cars do look pretty South-African, although the range definitely isn't RDM's default range at Overberg.

A recent video of an air defence exercise of TNI-AD.
It seems that besides "20 mm, 23 mm, 40 mm and 57 mm AAA", also some Mistral and Starstreak launchers were involved.
In an older video on the internet, it was obvious that hitting low and slow flying target drones is very hard with manually operated S-60 and Type 85 (chinese ZU-23-2 copies). So in a real combat situation, those things are only effective if the enemy decides to invade with helicopters without air support.

There is no SM3 5.56 mm Pindad photo on their website, there is only SM2 7.62 mm. So this is maybe SM3 as you stated but definately it is relatively new machine gun and look like hasnt been used by our Armed Force yet.

Only the stock is different, anything else is almost exactly the same.
So it can be a licenced manufactured Minimi, with small modifications. Late production batches SS-1 have also another handguard compared to early production batches.

One of the things i really dislike in Indonesia is the large amount of people who acting like they are so important, high class and powerful and start to equip their cars with blue lights, sirene and TNI/POLRI attributes, which in turn make them think they are higher and better than others and are above the law.

This is an example of an idiot who borrow a military looking car from a retired colonel, and although he doesnt have any rights or reason to use it, he just does it. The good news is that the military police is investigating the whole case, the bad news is, is that this is just one person of the many thousands of useless idiots abusing such cars.

54 hectare of confiscated ground once owned by a corruptor, is given by the KPK (Anti-Corruption Comission) to TNI-AD. The army is happy with it, because the field artillery and air defence units need a lot of space.

Good idea. Cleaning up a whole airbase or forced labour during natural disasters, not only as punishment, but also to be useful for the society.

Btw, this year is probably the most boring Hari ABRI (Armed Forces Day) in history.

Troops from the 18th Para-Raider Brigades/Kostrad 2nd Division of the Indonesian Army conducting loaded march during a JRTC rotation with the US Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

It's pretty good to finally see bilateral training exercises between the Indonesian Army and their American counterparts. Seeing as the TNI is currently undergoing structural re-organizations as well, I'm hopeful to see these experiences potentially being the foundation of what shapes a future Indonesian Army would be.

From Pindad Official site, this light 4x4 seems design to replace current TNI Light 4x4 like Land Rover and Jeep. Local media put info from Pindad Official that it's using Engine and Transmission from Toyota Hilux. However the chassis seems developed by Pindad it self.

This's part to drive Pindad as main provider on 4x4 and 6x6 vehicle for TNI. The need for Light Trucks also seems aimed to standardise from Locally build Toyota, Hino and Mercedes. While Chechs TATRA from information from Media also in talk with local Partner (could be Pindad also) on potential building local facility for Heavy Trucks.
Indonesia did not have facility yet for Heavy Trucks, as locally produce Hino and Mercedes still can only be consider as Medium 6 wheel Trucks.

All are part of Government aim on maximizing Local Industry products for TNI and other Government Agency.

Maung order come from MinDef, thus more likely they will be distributed to all branch replacing Land Rover Defender and Jeep CJ's. Also Pindad will prepare the 'Civilian' version of Maung, perhaps that will be 'mandatory' official 'field' vehicles to District Commanders or Divisional Commanders. Rather let them used budget to buy 'Rubicon' as official vehicles. It has been talk by State Auditors (from what I heard) to MinDef. Considering the price of Rubicon is more expensive then the Toyota Crown used as official cars for Cabinet members.

Anyway from time to time, Pindad update their Video in their sites. According to this video, Pindad CEO state that this year they already got official order asside for Maung, and 4 billion small ammunition, but also initial Production rate for Harimau Medium Tank and Cobra 8x8. Cobra 8x8 is Pindad designation for their license Production of Pandur 8x8.
