Update.
The SAA has retaken Palmyra. A Russian general was apparently heavily wounded in the process though details are lacking. ISIS fighters appear to have abandoned the town which much of a fight. Also Russian SoF were spotted in the area.
Interestingly enough the Syrian positions apparently have tube artillery used indirectly which is rare. It's possible they belong to the Syrian 5th Army Corps, trained by Russia.
Also Khazari fighters were involved in the push.

A Syrian MiG-21 fell in Turkey, after either being shot down or experiencing a mechanical problem. The pilot claims he was shot down. He is alive and receiving aid from the Turks. Turkish rescue teams picked him up in a level of friendliness that would have been impossible 1 year ago.

A Russian humanitarian aid convoy has arrived in Kurdish territory near Manbij while US special forces are moving north of Manbij. For the first time US and Russian ground forces are nearly within sight of each other. Despite this joint show of what amounts to support of the Kurds, the Turks have begun an offensive towards Manbij killing and capturing Kurdish fighters, and even allegedly 5 SAA soldiers.
Interestingly enough if the SAA takes a section of Kurdish territory west of Manbij, as was initially suggested, and the US deploys north of Manbij blocking a potential Turkish push from Jarubulus, then the Turks would be left unable to advance. There is a 3-sided meeting in Turkey between Russian, American, and Turkish general staff. Questions like these are likely to be raised.

The newly formed ISIS Hunters unit of the Syrian army, likely part of the 5th Army Corps, has retaken some of the gas fields north-west of Palmyra.

Russian activity has spiked west of Manbij. Their EoD has cleared mines from a road between SAA and Kurdish positions west of Manbij. There are reports that Russian BTR-80s may have been handed over to the Kurds though this seems unlikely. It's more likely that Russian APCs flew Kurdish in addition to Russian flags, for PID reasons. Russian troops have been spotted west of Manbij delivering humanitarian aid and making their presence know. Note the photos in the 4th link, they clearly show Russian military police, a btln of which deployed to Aleppo earlier. It's important to note that the Russian presence is tiny and symbolic more then practical.

If this is correct, this might be ground-breaking. The last major amphibious op by the US was, unless I'm much mistaken, Inchon during the Korean War.
This is also well timed. Given the recent mop-up of Deyr-Khafer, There was a real chance of SAA forces approaching Tabka from the north-west. Now the US and the Kurds have the driver's seat against ISIS with the Turks effectively shut out and the regime forces too far to step in.
If this success is the end of the ISIS in the geo-strategic sense, then the war in Syria will suddenly get a lot simpler, with the pro-Turkish fighters mostly quiet due to a deal between Erdogan and the Russo-Iranian alliance. It will leave the remains of the non-ISIS rebels pitted against Assad and his backers.

The game is over for ISIS units retreating all over Syria. These cats got something plan for the defense of there self proclaimed capital, if they don't receive backup or new recruits they doomed. What a bizarre outburst. Things have never been better for the SAA, there are clear paths they can follow to improve their military position and stabilise even more. Like Feanor said, things are getting simpler, we are reaching the endgame phase of this conflict. (not the end, I mean the endgame phase of this geopolitical chess game)

Do you mean that Syrian conflict will be finished after Raqqa falls? If so, who does have enough power to 'liberate' the ISIS capital regarless of loses? Assad? Coalition? Moderate opposition?

A look at the developing Kurdish-US offensive against ISIS. Some footage of the Tabqa airbase now in Coalition hands. This essentially puts Raqqa on the front line, and while the fight is likely to be bloody and hard, it appears that Raqqa will be taken by the Kurds and the USA.

Meanwhile a rebel offensive has developed in nothern Hama province. The offensive seems to have slowed as it approaches Hama itself but the fight is far from over. If Russia don't intervene Israel will hit SAA and Hezbollah more than they doing now. If you pay attention it a back and forth battle. SAA is not what it use to be like I said before it miracle how the SAA survive with defectors you have rebels with captured equipment. Assad has be thankful about Russia help they would been done in 2015. The main force that I see doing the most damage is Tiger force, Desert Hawks and airborne units. Sad part of this if SAA was good force these rebels suppose be knock out quickly especially with firepower if you notice you never see a full artillery battery of the SAA in action.
I think Russia pulled some strings diplomatically to try to keep Israel restrained. Not sure what kind of intervention you have in mind.
Assad is "thankful" to Putin for saving him. And by thankful I mean that Russia is totally calling the shots diplomatically.
There are some army units, some Hezbollah units and some paramilitaries that pull their weight in the conflict, most of Assad's manpower are not motivated enough to risk their lives for the regime. Most are conscripts who were forced into service, they don't intend to die or be tortured and then beheaded.
About the artillery units of the SAA, I have noticed they are not very active/effective/organised. I am not sure what the reason for that is. Maybe massing soviet-era howitzers is not the best way to deal with small rebel units moving amongst rubble.

I'm sure everyone has heard of the chemical attacks in Syria. Sarin was used. All reports claim it was launched from a Syrian jet.

I am shocked and don't know what to think. Assad and Russia are slowly but surely starting to re-take the nation. Why would he order this attack? This will surely bring US and NATO in the picture will it not? Who do you guys think did it?

Russian official statement is that the Syrians bombed a chemical weapons production facility under rebel control. Note this comes on top of Russian allegations that rebels in Aleppo were in possession of chemical weapons, and Russia has submitted a number of samples to the OPCW, which the speaker references. It's also important to keep in mind that both in Aleppo and Idlib, one of the biggest if not the biggest players has been al-Nusra which is an al-Qaeda affiliate. So it's not incredible that they should have some rudimentary chemical weapons. It is important to understand that this does not discredit evidence of chemical weapon use by Assad's forces.

Assuming the attack was by Assad forces, it's a pretty dumb move at this point. With most nations just wanting an end to this mess and probably willing to leave Assad in place (secretly if not publicly) as the least worst choice, why do this now when he is winning? Actions like this might just renew actions to remove him or end him

Either way it makes little sense. As you suggest world opinion will turn rapidly against Russia, Syria and Iran. On the other hand the idea that the rebels have chemical weapon stock piles is just not credible. How would they have acquired them? Is it possible that SA supplied them perhaps?
Could Syria be trying to drag the west into the conflict?? If so why?
Nothing makes sense.
The syrian airforce has been bombing those towns for weeks. Why would they load chemical weapons on their aircraft and bring negative worldwide attention, like what had happened during the Obama administration and almost caused some kind of US intervention? This is the last thing they would want, in fact, they are having some moderate success in this front, it's not like they were getting desperate.
Besides, cluster munitions are deadlier than chemicals generally. Not to mention that napalm that Russia has used several times, incendiary munitions. So why use chemical weapons?
Also, things are more controlled in the syrian airforce, it's not like some NDF scumbags lobbed chemicals or something like that.
It makes so little sense that I would more readily believe in some conspiracy theory, like some HTS fighters doing it. They are hardcore islamists, suicide attacks are a big part of their attacks. If they could cause a diplomatic row, they would sacrifice innocents without a second thought.
Anyway, it is very muddy isn't it? Still, things for the Trump administration seem CRYSTAL clear, they condemned the SAA for the attack and are asking for UN actions. They are obviously very smart and have the best people looking into this. The best people, tremendous, believe me.
