There have recently been trials of Ukrainian T-84BM tanks in Pakistan. The results are unclear, and they have a history of using the T-80UD. Does anyone know how the trials turned out?

Andrei-bt claims that the Oplot-BM won a contest against it's Chinese counterpart, and after additional work will be accepted for service in Pakistan, but given the state of the factory and the pace of production for Thailand, I have to wonder about the accuracy of the claims. Could the Pakistanis have signed a contract without considering this, or is some sort factory upgrade deal in it as well?
As for the Ka-50 and Ka-52, let's not confuse the two. They are distinct and separate. The Ka-50 actually is combat proven (or disproved, since the result of it's use in the Second Chechen War was to not accept it for service. Instead the Ka-52 was developed which rectified many of the shortcomings. But as the previous poster said, it's unproven.

I'm not familiar with the experience the Indians have had, but your comment seems a little strange given that the Hinds have seen extensive combat use in Afghanistan, the Chechen wars, and in Georgia. Given that the Pakistanis have apparently just purchased a batch of the Mi-35Ms they seem to disagree with your assessment. Granted it's a trial buy of 4 helos, so it remains to be seen how it ultimately fares.

Or if you look at it another way, the US drives a wedge between Pakistan's government/military and the Taliban by offering the military new fighter aircraft, and should the military be seen to be aiding the Taliban too blatantly, the parts and armament for those fighter aircraft, supplied by the United States, would dry up very quickly indeed, leaving them as hanger queens. Thus the military is dissuaded from overt help for the Taliban as they wish to keep some level of modern air superiority capability, particularly with India's own substantial air superiority capability next door.
Think about it.
Or think of it as optimum use of available procurement resources. Why should Pakistan go for a specialist COIN platform with PGMm capability when it can get a fast jet which can both drop LGBs on insurgents & provide an air defence capability for a resource constrained force? Think about it!:rel

Pakistan will start production of high tech Al-Khalid 2 tank in the next four years. It will be manufactured keeping in view the future requirements of the country. According to officials, the tank will be comparable to any modern tank. Al-Khalid Main Battle Tank (MBT) forms the backbone of Pakistan Army’s Armoured Corps.
The tank is a result of close collaboration between Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) of Pakistan and China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO), with the first prototype developed in the early ’90s.The Al-Khalid is a further development of the Chinese Type 90-II tank. The tank is locally produced at the HIT complex, and an estimated 600 machines are in service. Al-Khalid MBT incorporates Russian and Chinese design philosophy in its manufacture. The tank itself is considerably lighter and smaller, incorporating a lower profile when compared to its Western counterparts.
At the meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Defense Production, Acting Chairman of HIT Brigadider Tahir Islam told the committee that his organization is producing tanks, tank guns and other related equipment. HIT has the capacity to manufacture fifty tanks, one hundred engines of tanks and fifty APC. The meeting was informed that manufacturing of Al-Khalid-1 tank was started in 2016 and it will be completed in two phases by 2023.

So Pakistan has cancelled the Agusta/TAI T-129 acquisition program and will switch to the chinese Z-10ME. The Z-10 was already offered some years ago by china.
The Z-10ME is an upgraded variant of the Z-10 with active and passive countermeasures, missile approach warning system, radar warning receiver, new engine exhaust nozzle pointed upwards to reduce infrared signature, new intake filtration systems and armor panels, more powerful 1200 kW engine, larger ammunition magazine, appliqué graphene-based armor panels, infrared jammer, and a new IFF interrogator.
