My best guess? Rather poorly. But honestly this is not public information.Any idea how Su-34 EW capability compares with current Growler kit?

Fair enough, such information would be classified. In any case, Next Generation Jammer should provide a whole new level of capability over ALQ-99 when fielded early in the next decade. My best guess? Rather poorly. But honestly this is not public information.
Ah, like the recce drones the USAF used over China & N. Vietnam in the 1960s.There is news on a long-range UAV to enter service in Russia, which will be able to fly a preprogrammed path, without any contact with base, making it undetectable to enemy ELINT assets. However the language is very ambiguous. It seems to indicate that it won't be controlled from the ground.
Or like Soviet Tu-143 drones. Seriously, it makes very little sense. I'm wondering if it's intentional misinformation, or just bs.Ah, like the recce drones the USAF used over China & N. Vietnam in the 1960s.

It may be a mistake - the helicopter in the image is a Mi-17 version.
Mi-8AMTSh is the same as the Mi-171Sh. It's a nomenclature difference not a material one.It may be a mistake - the helicopter in the image is a Mi-17 version.
TASS: Military & Defense - Russian Helicopters confirms agreement with Egypt for 46 Kamov Ka-52 aircraft
So after Egypt bought the Mistral ships because of the sanctions against Russia, they are now getting the 46 navalised Ka-52 that were intended for them. That's kinda neat.
Seems to be the case. A second contract had been planned for a while, for 48 aircraft. I guess they went for 50 instead.Dunno if this is confirmed or not but, a new deal for 50 Su-35S has emerged:

They only very recently began combat duty. Before that the Su-27SM were used for combat duty. This likely explains the low flight hours, as the pilots split their hours between two aircraft. It will be important to see how this year goes.Something is weird with the Su-35S currently being delivered.
There are reports about them having very little flight hours, some only 20-60 hours in the air.
Makes me wonder if they hit some snags at a later stage with engines or control systems..
If its radar issue, then one would think its a matter of running it on a failsafe mode or something(while they look into it), so that the pilots can get the needed flight time with the jet.
eem.. 6th Gen fighter..?
Hold on.
How about US focus on getting F-35 in service first and foremost.
By the looks of it, it faces further delays, and the total amount produced will get reduced.
That is not a good start for the next US jet that will replentish all three US air branches.
The F-35C will reach service as late as 2019(which is the very latest timetable)
F-35A will reach service in 2018, but things are looking bleak for this time table as well.

Edit:
Its not just the F-35, the PakFa has also seen severly delays.
But with the replentish of Flankers and Migs, it seems the Russian MoD has an smart procurment plan for VVS and RuNavy tacair.
And only recent have we seen some funding being replaced in order to modernize the USAF F-16 and F-15C/E.
But for USAF position, i wonder if this is too little, too late..?
