The MoD is buying 11 Il-96s. What variants are unclear, but at least one will be a personal aircraft for the MinDef. There is speculation about cargo or air-refueling variants. I don't like it. I think it's another case of the MoD being stuck with an order for a plane they don't want, as a way to support domestic industry.

NAPO is accelerating production of Su-34s, allowing for early handover of some contracted aircraft.

Does the RuAF have any plans for an Il-38/Tu-142 ASW/maritime patrol replacement? Are they likely to use a commercial liner to base it on, an MS-21 derivative for instance? If not, aren't there dozens of ASW Bears in storage, available for overhaul?

There are unpublished plans and unverified rumors.

My best guess is, keep the SM3 program runing for cheap bucks, and those Su-27P probably got lots of life hours left in em.

The other procurments programs(Su-30SM and Su-35S) will continue regardless.

The Su-27SM3 is linked to the extended Su-30M2 contract i think.

I have a question about the Russia-Japan incidents with the constant Il-38, Tu-142 and Tu-95 flights. What is Russia hoping to achieve with these?

I don't think it's going to change any facts on the ground, rather it would have the opposite effect and strengthen Japanese resolve and hasten their militarization.
For Russia, I see Putin scoring points with his domestic audience with his "Russia Strong" campaign... maybe try to impress some foreign audiences as well.

As far as I know these incidents consist of little more then routine training. What am I missing?

No.

Nobody does, because there's no such thing as an exact price. The price of each sale is negotiable, & will depend on what's included in the contract.

It has been hinted in Russian media that the fly away price for Su-34 are as low as $ 32 mill per unit. This is most likely those Domestic contract, and NAPO/Sukhoi are not allowed to overprice such contracts by Russian law.
I read somewhere that the surplus income cannot rise above 6-10 %

But as Swerve points out, there is no exact way to know how these figures are calculated and what they contain or not..

Which Russian aircraft are currently equipped for aerial refueling? The ones I'm aware of are the Bear, Blackjack, Fencer, Fullback and Mainstay.

MiG-29SMT too, if I recall correctly.

The Il-96 is currently in production. They've been building them essentially non-stop, but in tiny quantities. They will be building more.

Oke, thanks, it was because of that in August 2009 Russian Minister of Industry and Trade announced that the manufacturing of the Il-96 would be cancelled (except the cargo version), that i thought that production has been ended.
