And the world have moved on since WW2. When soldiers had to use their own money to equip themselves. When soldiers didn't have to argue with LT so and so in order to be evacuated by sea. When a nation didn't equip it's army adequately enough in order to not get wiped out endlessly.
Now we have a situation where if a kiwi, attached to the UN, requesting urgent med evac, has to wait for a UN general assembly to convene, in order to have the appropriate resources committed.
It's inspiring to think that the individual service person, can over come challenges, not of there job description. It's also annoying, that the average civilian, aren't aware, of the pressure they put one our services. By not making an informed vote. In an information abundant society.
I myself have spent the past 10 years in Australia. And feel I am more clued up, on defence issues, than my family in NZ.
My nane's and aunties where worrying. About the coming TPPA. And had asked if there where any good points about it. To which I replied.
"One of the problems New Zealand has in not signing up to the TPPA. Are defence issues. New Zealand has adopted a tokenistic view towards defence procurement, this means New Zealand must cozy up to it's bigger alies in order to maintain peace in the region through trade. Poor maori's didn't have a clue what I was saying. And couldn't connect the dots.
Thank you for your patience Ngati/mods and every one else.
