Was there ever an update on this story? I always found it weird that they already declined the vehicles on quality grounds while they were on a ship in the Gulf. Would have thought this would be more likely to occur when inspecting them immediately after production or after they actually reached the port.
The ship went to India to offload the vehicles as scrap metal, to sell to cover costs for shipping, but it was arrested in India, pending payment of 500 000 dollars because the scrap metal was late. Ukranian sources allege that the Iraqis are now willing to take the vehicles.
Also Iraq has bought 6 Mi-35M helos, in addition to the Mi-28Ns. Iraqi operators have been training in Russia. How long, I wonder, before there are more flying Mi-35Ms then Mi-28Ns.

EDIT: Update on the BTR-4 deliveries. The Iraqis have refused to take the vehicles completely and finally. UkrSpetzEksport owes the shipping company 1 million dollars, and their representatives have been ducking phone calls from the shipping company. The shipping company representative said that in early September Iraq cancelled the whole contract. The shipping company is now trying to figure out what to do with the cargo.
