What is your Everyday Carry?

Relating to the carry gun thread, what is everyone's Everyday Carry (EDC)?

The things one has on their person to get them through each day, or that they have to help make sure they make it through the day...

For me, here is a brief list:

• 65 KN climbing carabiner

If I know where I am headed is likely to be a little hairy, I might have even more with me.

I've thought of a "Get Home Bag" with a 2 day supply of several items but currently I only have a work back pack that carries my laptop and some other stuff so I know I always have it on me:
2 bottles of water
2 days lite rations (packaged oatmeal,2 can goods, large bag of sunflower seed)
Plastic bowl
P51 can opener
$10 in change
Batteries
Small flashlight.
Small toolkit.
Powdered sports drink mixes.

Nope. That stuff is in my pockets. Depending on which pants I happen to be wearing, I sometimes have even more stuff than that.

I also typically have a messenger shoulder bag which has the following:

• iPad in a padded compartment
• cell phone, battery packet & iPad power/charging cords
• 5.11 ATAC R3 rechargeable light
• Smith & Wesson tactical pen/stylus
• regular pens and pencils
• sunglasses & case
• hygiene kit (soap, sanitizer, toothbrush & paste, etc)
• pack of spare batteries
• small first aid kit
• water bottle with powdered energy drink mixes
• several energy bars for emergency snacks

I have other bags ready just in case something goes on, or there is an activation.

Here's what I carry all the time, in order to be ready for the upcoming zombie apocalypse, whenever it happens :

1 Chainsaw
1 12 gauge Mossberg ZMB edition pump-action shotgun
Several boxes of 12 gauge ammo
.50 cal machinegun fixed on top of my trailer with several thousand spare rounds of ammo :ar15
"Get off mah lawn" posters and boards to be displayed wherever I park my trailer
Several crates of food and water
keycard to the nearest maximum security secret goverment installation/bunker in-case things go south real fast
Several bottles of zombie-repellant spray.
And moonshine. Lots of it. :drunk1


OK seriously now, Todjaeger, dayum man, you sure are well-stocked for any situation.

All I do carry with me is:
my wallet ( with ID and stuff )
Cellphone and charger
2 bottles of water
Some sports drinks ( gatorade etc. )
A few bladed weapons
Toolbox/kit and flashlight
Sunglasses & case

I keep a saw and shovel in the car as well. With the weird weather that has been occurring where I live in the past couple of years or so, as well as the "cost-saving measures" that a number of companies and gov't agencies have been taking, roads have been known to suddenly get closed by debris.

If I'm at work, add a set saf loc cuffs and key, duress alarm,lose car keys, add work keys. night shift is different, add 511 belt, led lenzer torch, radio, extendable batton,q and coffee.

Depending on circumstances, I might carry some of -
bottle of water
notebook & pen
camera
umbrella
small torch (usually a head torch)
sun cream
small penknife (rarely)

If I'm on a bike & going further than I'd like to walk, I'll have a pump & basic tool kit, & minimal first aid kit.

I may carry an extra garment if the weather is changeable, or if I expect the temperature to drop while I'm out.

In the car, I make sure I have my licence & insurance documents.

I don't understand why anyone would want to carry a survival kit for wandering around town. I don't plan on having to survive WW3 every time I go out. In 55 years of life, have never encountered a situation which needed all that stuff, & nor has anyone I know. I've seen people have injuries. I've had accidents myself. Always coped.

Key's, wallet, cellphone (with GPS capability), drivers licence, usual credit / bank cards and a penlight type torch on key ring. Being Christchurch need the GPS capable cellphone because bound to get lost near CBD with all the demolitions and changes to area. Also the cellphone allows for locating closest open purveyor of food and instant connection to Geonet to find out size and location of latest earthquake

I'm usually packing my wallet, keys, phone (not always charged but the charger in the car and spare at home and at work), knifes (2)(small folders just incase one breaks, one for food and one for everything else while at work), work gloves, small pad of paper and odd assortment of pens/markers, flashlight (again at work), small & medium wirecutters (@ work), small change, small bag of sunflower seeds. about 50% of the time i also have a small valve wrench and a adjustable wrench for work / adjustments around the plant. hardhat and safety glasses (sometimes tinted some not) (@work).
My lunch bag has got tums, advil, tea bags, thermos, food, water, energy drink mix, pliers, multitool, more wrenches (adjustable and allen and hex) 4th cell phone charger just incase (again my phone is never seemingly charged)
No ccw permit yet so cant concealed carry and work doesn't allow open (or concealed) carry on property so for now got to leave my pistol at home.

Pants is a definite. Usually a belt as well. Pants just don't feel right to me without a belt. Call me old-fashioned...

Otherwise it's iPhone, wallet (my badge) cards, Sennheiser earphones, keys and hankerchief.

On trips, I add a Leatherman wave and passport (if I'm overseas).

At work - Glock 27 in an ankle or tac-thigh holster (depending on the job, but usually the ankle holster) and a bumbag (fanny pack for the Americanos... ) with 2 spare mags, OC spray, cuffs, ASP baton, Surefire LED torch and Leatherman wave.

I often carry water, but not much in the way of zombie protection or survival equipment. I've cunningly well-equipped my backyard with a VERY comfortable outdoor chaise lounge for those nights I'm in the dog house....

A bookshop "loyalty card"
Pen
Pencil
Pocket knife (single clip-point blade 3"/7cm)
Keyring LED flashlight (needs a fresh battery)
Lip balm
Kleenex pocket pack (half empty)
Variery of atm slips and shopping receipts.

I sometimes add a Multitool - ("Harley Davidson Motortool" - it includes a few screwdriver tips) and a compact dual-band (VHF/UHF) amateur radio handheld tranceiver ("walkie-talkie" to the uninitiated).

In my main job, we are required to conceal our weapons for everyday use, hence the ankle holster. If we are doing something where the use of force is expected, or we need to wear bullet resistant vests etc, we carry them openly, but generally we like to remain inconspicuous until it suits us, to go overt.

I wish I could buy something like that in India without getting my sorry ass thrown in jail for 11 years

It does the job and it shoots really well for such a small weapon. I liked it straight away when I traded in the Glock 22 for it.

We use Safariland holsters almost exclusively. Don't ask me the model numbers, I've no idea. I'm not that much into the minutiae of those things. We've got standard "duty" versions, hi-rise versions, tac-thigh variants, shoulder, ankle and bumbag variants.

It's all just work gear to me though...
