Reagan airport in Washington DC

Hi guys,

I was traveling to DC last weekend. Both times: jist few seconds before the landing and right after the departure the plane makes a turn. While flying there I thought it was the side wind. But then I saw another plane doing the same. Is there some object they are not allowed to fly over while descending? It's quite complicated for the flight crew to make a sharp turn just a few seconds before the touch down...I know there is Pentagon in that area. Is it the reason?

Most of the city center is restricted airspace.
The Wikipedia article does a fairly good job of explaining the legal approach paths - Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I really love these types of responces! Instead of simply giving an anwer and/or just sending a link peole would SPEND THEIR TIME just saying that somewhere else there is an answer...
What is the value of this responce?

You need to pull your head in and read the forum rules before continuing on. having a crack at someone who is trying to hellp when you appear to be indolent isn't a good way to earn others support or respect.

Fix your attitude or move on

Seems the most sensible option to me, if there's a perfectly adequate article on the subject why would you SPEND YOUR TIME essentially writing a shorter + less accurate summary when you can simply read the information yourself? Personally it seemed fine, short, concise and linked somewhere you can look it up for yourself.

Should also point out, his reply does fit your "Instead of simply giving an anwer and/or just sending a link" criteria. At least in my humble opinion.

Also brings to mind, what's more silly, writing the response you appear annoyed by or writing that you're annoyed by it? . . . . .

No need to get so aggravated about it, you asked + he provided the info you require. No need to go for the jugular like that.

What, and you can't google stuff yourself?

Don't jump down people's throats when they give you an answer, I'm not in the mood to put up with it and neither is anyone else.
