Roughly how capable is a Su-34 as a fighter in an air superiority role relative to a modern Russian fighter like the Su-35?
This is definitely in the wrong thread, and the wrong forum. This is a naval forum, and the Russian NAVY thread. Take your query to the Russian Air Force thread in the appropriate forum.

New numbers from the Russian state arm programs. The navy will recieve the following.
10 SSBN Borei class submarines.
10 SSN Yasen class submarines
20 none nuclear submarines including 6 Kilo class.
8 project 22350 frigates
6 project 11356 frigates
18 project 20380/85 corvettes
6 21630 Buyan missile boats.
6 large project 11711 landing ships.
Defense Ministry to Purchase More Yasen and Borei Subs
The add 4 Mistral ships. No words of any new destroyer class by 2020.

So just thinking out laud about the Russian navy older equipment status is 2020....
Sovremenny class will probably be gone. (only 4 active remains today)
Udulay could remain, pehaps 4-6 remaining.
Kirov class, hard to say. If modification programs continue 2-3 could be active with the Northen and Pacfic Fleets.
Slava class. Are long in the tooth by then. Also hard to say. Russia has kept 35 years Cruisers active before (Kara class). And the question about Ukraina remains.
Some few Oscar class submarines could be active. The last ones was built in the mid 1990s.
Same goes for akula (not typhoon).
Sierra probably will be gone, and Mike classes.
Kilo class submarines will remain as the largest group of convential powerd submarines in the fleet. The lada class does not seem to be going anywhere soon.
Delta III and the Tyhpoon classes will be gone I think. Delta IV could remain in low numbers. 2-4 im gessing. Untill Borei reaches 10 units.
Admiral Kuznetsov should have returned from its refit by then.

The plan afaik was to have 14 strategic submarines in the inventory, so
if 10 Borey subs are on order, they will still need 4 Delta IV. Otherwise it also
wouldn't make sense to develop new missiles for the latter.
I wonder what will happen to the Typhoon-class submarines, 3 of them are still
active or in reserve and various Navy officials always declared they would not
be scrapped. But which role could be assigned to them and would this really
be worth paying for overhauling them?
Does anybody know when the MiG 29K is planned to enter service with the VMF?

By enter service, you mean when will it pass state trials? There is an AVMF prototype MiG-29K on the Kuznetsov right now, undergoing trials. But it's unclear whether these are official state trials. The contract for 28 MiG-29K/KUB was expected to get signed this month. With deliveries to begin iirc 2015.

They must be counting on oil going back to $150 a barrel. I don't see how they can afford all those ships. But they certainly do need them.

Afaik the planned service-entry date for the MiG 35 was 2014 (?).
Can the Su 33s still be kept in airworthy condition until 2015 or later?
They're already quite old and I've heard nothing about the upgrades
suggested for them being carried out.

There were upgrades done for them iirc 2010ish. Maybe 2011. As it stands the VVS has not ordered any MiG-35, so I don't know what the situation there is. Also all the info on MiG-29K deadlines is tentative at best, so I'd wait until we see an official announcement to start drawing long-term conclusions.@Feanor: I thought the first MiG 29K would be handed over to the Navy

The money will most likely be going towards improved Kilo class diesel electrics.

There have been contradictory reports. Supposedly they will re-evaluate the head submarine, in deep-sea trials in the North Fleet, before making a final decision.

It would be more interesting to know what they'll be used for.
Especially whether the Dmitrij Donskoj will retain its Bulava
missiles, or whether it will also be kept in reserve.

I think in many ways they recognize that these subs are an asset, but they themselves don't yet know how to best make use of it, and their maintenance and operating costs are unpleasant, especially now as they try to increase numbers of contract soldiers, and increase the intensity and scale of training.
