Very curious as to why fighters are fitted with Solid State Recorder Systems? Are they meant for the collection of certain flight data?

The following is from Qinetiq, which is a UK company that builds these types of Solid State Recorder Systems:

Accident Data Recorders (ADR), also known as Flight Data Recorders (FDR), is fitted to many military aircraft and often provides the only evidence available to determine the probable cause of an incident or accident.

Let me know if your looking for more specific information that this.

Some aircraft are equipped with recorders that save far more info that what is found in the typical black box. In addition to the obvious, they also record data from sensors that are emplaced purely for the sake of recording data. Often times maintenance can not duplicate malfunctions on the ground that occur or reoccur in the air.
