Hey Guys,
I recently graduated with an electrical engineering degree with a 3.78 gpa, and I'm very interested in getting into the defense industry. Unfortunately I did not do an internship, so I have absolutely 0 engineering work experience... My reason for this was I was enjoying my summer job at the local highway department (yes I know a stupid reason).
I only started looking for a job 2 weeks ago, but it seems almost impossible for a non-military civilian with no engineering experience to get a job. This is on top of the fact that it seems most of the defense jobs relate more to computer engineering than electrical engineer... What idiot told me electrical engineering had more job opportunities?
I've been looking for job within a 50 mile radius of where I live (just outside NYC). So IBM and BAE Systems are within range.
What do I need to do to get into the industry? Should I give up? Do I need to relocate to VA (or somewhere else)?
