General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems

As part of research into naval weapons, various manufacturer websites are being visited to obtain appropriate information.

I've been unable to connect to General Dynamics Ornance and Tactical Systems website (gd-ots.com) for two or three weeks.

I can connect to their Canadian website (gd-otscanada.com) without issue, although the range of products seems to be limited there compared to what is (or was) available at the principal website.

Is the main site (gd-ots.com) no longer available? Anyone else having difficulty connecting to the main website? Perhaps their website blocks users with IP addresses outside of North America from entering their site (I'm aware that some websites do restrict access based on user IP addresses)?

Thanks for that!

So it appears the principal website (gd-ots.com) is still up which is good news. Unfortunately, I am still unable to connect to this website!?

I've tried different browsers but still can't connect to the website.

It may be, as I suspected in my first post, that access is only enabled for users with IP addresses from certain countries/regions ONLY(?) :(

My internet connection is via an ISP in New Zealand. Presumably, NZ IP addresses are being blocked(?)

It would be interesting to see if anyone else from NZ, Australia, UK, Europe etc can connect to the website. Anyone confirm please?

u can always use a proxy to browse the web

As you can see from the other post, the site is working.
So your logic is good.
But stil,l you can use an available proxy to browse the web.

Yes!

Thanks for your comment!

I have since used proxy software which effectively changes/hides my original IP address. The software allowed me to enter gd-ots website and browse without issue.

All this suggests that the gd-ots website blocks internet users who have certain (range of) IP addresses. :private

General Dynamics Benefit Question

Can anyone tell me what General Dynamics Long Term Disability costs per month? I mean, I know that they will cover up to 50% of your salary in LTD, but that you can pay extra to receive 60%.

So what I am really trying to find out is how much it costs for the basic coverage, and how much more would it be for the additional 10%?

I'm not trying to be a prat, but have you tried their personnel section for this? I would have assumed that this info would be available under general employment conditions.

I don't presently work with GD. I am active duty and, unfortuntately, am currently located overseas. I have been researching different post retirement employement options and doing a cost benefit analysis of each of the companies that I am considering. Anything that I have been able to find online only discusses what the benefits are and not how much they will cost you... if anything.

For the most part I have all of the information that I need, but I was just curious about the disability coverage that General Dynamics offers because it seems like it far surpasses anything else that I have encountered at any of the other companies. Of course, if the premiums are ridiculous to maintain then I guess that would explain a lot. ;) Thanks anyway.

I'd be curious as to whether its a standard employment provision/condition or whether its Division specific ??

Hmmm... I honestly hadn't even considered that. I guess when you are in one federal job for so long you occassionally take things like that for granted. Thanks for broadening my horizon.
