hi, my name is lynette, i am 41 and aussie mum, whom is interested in knowing how servicemen, feel about people who are online, using photo's of you guys to create fake profiles , for the purpose of scamming money , and identity frauding, in the event this was to happen, would the person identified in such pictures want to be told, or is there a security department which should be notified. I personally, have been exposed to such cruel and deliberate criminal activity, and really do wish to notify the person, identified in the photos. as they are not only of him but of his children as well, what can i do for you courageous service personnel, you guys are out there protecting us, and i want to do what i can to help, I really do want to find the person in these photo's, whom i believe to be in the airforce , based in denver, colorado. please reply with answers to my concerns.

What exactly are you trying to do? Find a person on a random photo? The chances that someone here knows him are slim. Upload the picture to photobucket or a similar site, and post a link here, but I wouldn't get too hopeful.

The probability that it is actually his kids is pretty low (unless service member is KIA), I would think that the person in the scam is using someone's name and or unit and thus you might be able to track them from there, if it is a scam you might want to post it to snopes.com or some other site like that that tries to debunk myths/frauds, another option would be to use photobucket and contact the better business bureau in your city and/or denver co. If someone was using my picture I would want to know even if it wasnt my name being used, I keep a pretty tight control of my pictures that I post online for just b/c of reasons like this, sadly my wife is not so discerning. The high number of views but low number of responses is that people usually try to verify information as much as possiable before posting it here.

Mmm. My mistake, that's right. You need to have 10 posts before you can post links. It's an anti-advertising measure.

I would get the phone number of the Buckley Air Force Base, call the duty NCO there and let them know what the situation is.

If you're trying to find personal contact info on the individual in question, you're unlikely to find it here.

I'm not sure if its the right person but here is the link using whitepages.com (american telephone residential numbers [all you need is a name and a city] , yellowpages.com is for businesses)

[Mod Edit: Due to privacy and security concerns, specific name deleted]

Check the pictures at either that mylife.com thats on there or friend him on facebook or what ever your using and see if he is on there, there is even a phone number to ask him for his email. I would just introduce myself and say someone was using his name for what you believe to be fradulent claims and that you would like to email him the link so that he can talk to whom ever he needs to to possiably fix it. It was all theory up to this point but now that you gave a name it becomes real, in a city as large as denver there might be more than one.

thanks for your reply, i have been trying that listing, from the link you sent me , on my own inniative, and to date am not able to get a response it appears this number may be an old listing. and is now disconnected. . I have also found other profiles fitting the description of this serviceman on many websites. including facebook, all but one appears to be a scam. from the same infiltrator. i will try mylife, thanks for the reference. I am truly hoping that someone, just one person will know this serviceman. and , help me help him. he may also be doing some service in australia , at pine gap, alice springs australia. my own referencing has me leaning this way. there is a profile on airforce singles without a photo. and i am trying to make contact to this person, however they do not seem to be online very much, but i am truly appreciative of your response, please keep the replies rolling. thanks to all.

[Mod Edit: Your actions to contact a particular serviceman raises privacy and confidentiality concerns for the Mod team and we want to protect the privacy of our members and of personnel serving in the military.

As already explained by a member of the Mod team, it is not appropriate to expect an answer of the nature you are seeking here in this forum and you have been provided suggestions at alternate courses of action. Any attempt to start another thread on the same topic will result in immediate banning and the Mod team will not entertain any further posts of the same nature from you.]
