Non-Australians in RAAF

Hi

Long story short, i'm 21-year-old male, an Estonian, currently studying to become a civil pilot. In three years i'll have bachelor's degree and CPL. I know it sounds like just another cliche, but military aviation is the field i've always dreamed of.
Anyway, only way to become a fighter pilot is joining another county's AF, which is rather complicated due to the nationality conflict.
So hypothetically speaking, if i were to get australian citizenship through naturalization process, would i be eligible to commence pilot training via Direct Entry?
Wonder if anyone knows a foreigner who ended up serving in RAAF?

you should really have a word to your local Def Force recruitment office.

There's no shortage of foreigners in the RAAF. apart from the usual group of americans, canadians, UK, kiwis's there are also singaporeans, indians and chinese.

Nono, there's no point in getting in touch with MoD or other offices, been there, done that. Estonia itself has no need for fighter pilots whatsoever, so the only option i find is to obtain another citizenship and join corresponding AF.

The UK Apache pilot who flew the RM guys strapped to the side of his bird now flies for the Aussie's. They head-hunted him to help develop the new Tiger SOP's and leverage off his Afghanistan experience. He's a former Para NCO, wrote the book 'Apache' - a ripping yarn well worth a read. I suspect you will see a few more UK Apache pilots follow his lead.

If you have the skills and experience, the Aussie's will take any Commonwealth nationals, plus Yanks. By recruiting from other nations you benefit form not having to invest in the huge cost of selection and training.

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) is the Air Force branch of the Australian Defence Force. The RAAF was formed in March 1921. It continues the traditions of the Australian Flying Corps which was formed on 22 October 1912. The RAAF has taken part in many of the 20th century's major conflicts including both World Wars, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. More recently the RAAF participated in the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The motto on the RAAF's coat of arms is the Latin phrase Per ardua ad astra, which means "Through Struggle to the Stars"
