I just am looking into the UK involvement in Vietnam.
The only things i can find but are not verified by actual source or other area to confirm,

WikiAnswers - Discussion of 'What was the extent of British involvement in the Vietnam war?'

I am a ex Royal Navy Leading Seaman who served on a aircraft carrier HMS Centaur which headed up a task force of 2 British destroyer 1 Australian destroy and a New Zealand frigate plus support vessels which laid laid off Vietnam during November/ December 1958 and carried day light bombing raids over Vietnam

With a check on wiki and other site’s about the light carrier HMS Centaur wiki makes no mention of any action off the coast of Vietnam not to say it did not happen

• US IV Corps Certificate for senior British Paratrooper 1965

1897P Senior Paratrooper's Sword with Vietnam provenance

Goggle has not been much of a help with the subject on the UK involvement in the conflict, can any one shed any light on the UK on why they did not get officially involved or what they acutely did there?

The Bunker Group
1958 Would have been in aiding the formation of South Vietnam.

1965 would presumably be a British Paratrooper on secondment to the US Army.

Fairly sure the British did not have any involvement in combat operations post 1965 or so.

The UK sent advisors in the very early days of US involvement to transfer knowledge gleaned during the Malayan Emergency. US SF personnel showed interest, however certain senior US conventional army officers bloodied on the fields of Korea rejected the UK Malayan model and went on to transform the South Vietnamese Army from a light infantry force to a mechanised army designed to resist large concentrations of conventional forces sweeping south, basically adopting the same defensive/offensive doctrine used in Korea to stop the Chinese/North Korean hordes.
