Russian Rifle TKB Series

Hello my name is James,I'm non military due to physical reasons but I believe in the military strongly!
I hope someone here can help me with some answers about a Russian rifle. Does anybody know anything about the TKB series of rifles? they're bull pup designs and I think they look cool:

It looks like a piece of alien technology.
It can easily be used in a hollywood Sci-Fi flick.
However is the barrel full length? It looks kind of short

I'd like to know more history of these weapons then the Wikipedia has listed, if these rifles had been fully developed an deployed would they have served with all Russian military services or just a select few, tank crews in particular?
Does anyone have more pictures? The Wikipedias' links to pictures have a few side shots but nothing else.

In regards to who would use it if it were used by troops, I'm pretty sure the question would depend on particular decisions made at the time. At this point we can only speculate on what could have been.
