Aviones de Venezuela para Uruguay?

Luis Rosadilla, Ministro de Defensa de Uruguay viajará en estos días a Venezuela para conversar sobre aspectos de seguridad y coordinación en defensa.
También podrían incluirse la venta o donación de material militar entre otros, aviones F-5 que hace años no vuelan debido a la falta de repuestos en Venezuela para esos aviones y los F-16.
Recordar que hace un tiempo en una zona franca de Uruguay aparecieron 2 motores de aviones F-5, provenientes de Malasia y según dice su destino era Venezuela.

En tanto en reuniones anteriores con altos mandos del comando sur de la US Navy el gobierno urugayo solicitó material para la la aviación naval del Uruguay, entre otros 3 o 4 S-3 Viking y Mentor T-34 para entrenamiento y patrullaje.

En USA han trascendido estas noticias? Que saben?

Well I think it's an interesting thought. If I'm not misinformed Uruguay doesn't operate any fast jets at the moment and if they can get some used ones from Venzuela, why not. It surely would mean a significant boost in capabilities. It remains to be seen however if a small and relatively poor country such as Uruguay can support and maintain a fleet of ageing F-5/F-16.

En USA han trascendido estas noticias? Que saben?
I did a quick google-search, couldn't find anything about it.

While US-Uruguay relations are much better than US-Venezuela, I would imagine the costs necessary to re-furbish the Venezuelan F-16s would be quite expensive. The F-5s make a little bit more sense, but it might make even better sense to invest in lead-in fighter trainers that can double as short-range air defense/attack aircraft and give advanced instruction to pilots at the same time. BaE Hawk and the South Korean T/A 50 come to mind.

Not sure how any of this relates to the Naval forum??? Maybe this is better served being moved to the Air Force section?

Well. In Uruguay we have good radar (INDRA 3D), the Air Force eyes tell you, but do not have "fists", ie keeping planes. We have only A-37 Dragonfly, IA-58 Pucara from Argentina and Pilatus PC-7, Sueco.Todos subsonic old. Only PC-7 are more or less new and were bought in 1996.
Uruguay seeks swift and hunting aircraft. Always pointed to the F-5, here there was talk that the U.S. could come, but we know these aircraft are no longer just training, the agressors and she recently bought 44 to Switzerland. But these will not come to Uruguay.
Here to date it sounds stronger receive a donation of Venezuelan aircraft.
Here also talks about the purchase of aircraft Yak-130 Russian Air Force because it thinks that would fulfill the role of fighter and trainer.

I wanted to see if you know anything about the Russian training aircraft Yak-130.

I am interested in the views they have on the Russian plane, as I recently read a post about problems in the aircraft that caused an accident.

In Uruguay this aircraft is postulated as one of the possible purchases of the Air Force as a replacement for the A-37 and IA-58 Pucará.

I hope to comment on the Yak, who view them deserves.
