Maybe not in peacetime but every conflict involving NATO and Russia would immediately see France revealing everything it knows about the PAK-FA...Unlikly yes, but who knows what the future will bring.
In the long term, it could happen..
France as a NATO member does not automaticaly mean US will get their hands on French defence equipment!
Just take a look at Red Flag 08 where the Rafale did not even reveiling its BVR capabilities against the US-Teens.
I'm sure there are many other good examples too.
French defence have their own seecrets and they do not share every thing with their NATO members..
Thanks

So giving PAK-FA to any NATO member is much too much of a risk for Russia.
Correct. Its not Canards, its called LERX i think.
What its stand for escapes me at the moment, but you should find it if you trail back on this thread.
Thanks
What does mean LERX ?
It is an English abbreviation of Leading Edge Root Extension who wants literally to say : Extension of the root of the leading edges.
Word corresponding in French is: APEX.
Where are they on the plane ?
LERX are the natural prolongations of the wings towards the nose of the plane. In some kind, they make the joint between wings and fuselage.
the LERX are supposed to be movable/dynamic, correct?
if so - on what axis are they movable? is it like this? (along the black arrow axis)?
Well while these are LEX, they are moveable and work much like canards. Take a look at the canard deflection during takeoff on aircraft like the Eurofighter or Rafale, the leading edge of their canards goes up, like the LEX on the T-50.But someone metion that on the first takeoff vid, that both Lerx was seen in a upwards position during take off.. At the same time doesn't the leading edge flaps go downwards under takeoff..
I don't know and i'm tired now, can' t think strait.
In other words i could be wrong here..
Thanks

To bad they just signed a deal for 1,5 bilion dollars with Russia today then.its nothing more then russian making fool of indian, russia lacks technology to make 5th gen aircraft now, they themself have stated that delivery wont start before 2025 ..
india should be smart and stoped especially after recent trials that more then half of russian supplied equipment doesnt work ...
russian are famous for selling dummy ( monkey ) product ..
they supply low grade equipment (eg iraq )
india should either develop her own industry or buy from europe
Until you get some facts under your belt, you can't even begin to talk. More then half of supplied equipment doesn't work? How about some sources.its nothing more then russian making fool of indian, russia lacks technology to make 5th gen aircraft now, they themself have stated that delivery wont start before 2025 ..

Havaarla, for canards, if they bend down, the air above moves slower than the air below, thus creating lift
But I think for the PAK FA, it bend upwards, to increase the air volume entering the engines during take off?
here you go mateUntil you get some facts under your belt, you can't even begin to talk. More then half of supplied equipment doesn't work? How about some sources.
Now that my gurkha friend is an articel from Rajat Pandit, TNN, Feb 17, 2007, 12.04am IST.if you know how to read ... instead of just getting agnorant read this ..
Quality of Russian arms worries India - India - The Times of India
You made a specific claim. more then 50% of Russian equipment supplied to India did not work. Waiting on sources... or are you ready to admit you're running your mouth without anything behind it?
