Google came up blank, but one of these has recently been completed and it will be launched on the 24th of December. The only result on it I got was Border Customs Boat project 22120 by Almaz. But the lenta.ru article says it will be a coast guard patrol ship. Anyone have any info on this class of ships? How many are planned? Where they fit in VMF OrBat? (of if they are coast guard, are they FSB command?)

Fenya, take a look at the english version of the site, I could not find much, just their Sobol launch on the 11th of sept. I would say wait until January 7th holidays to find out more.

Merry Xmas!

If it's a custom patrol ship for the Baltics (it's virtually the same size as German or Polish OPVs for the same purpose), it doesn't really need to be armed other than a couple small arms...

I sold some lights for the first hull, I know that there will be at least a second hull, it's currently under construction, I have been told that more will be ordered it funds allow.

You mean the 22120? Do you by any chance know who's the customer?

Off topic. They have the Multifunctional linear diesel-electric new generation icebreaker IB-25 in design.Always the Russians used nuclear icebreaker .Somebody know if they are changing the trend?
Russia have and has always had conventional icebreakers. The nuclear icebreakers are just much more high-profile.
So far as I can figure out, the nuclear IBs are used in the arctic sea alongside conventional IBs. I the Baltic and along the pacific coast, conventional IBs are the norm.

Baltisky Zavod has launched two conventionally powered 16MW icebreakers since 2007, these will be operated by Rosmoport. They were originally going to build 4 but the final two were cancelled in favor of the 25MW design.
