The Tiger is a medium-weight (category 6 tons) of which the weapon system is designed for operations of the day or night in all environments, including environments contaminated by NBC (nuclear contamination, bacteriological, chemical). It is equipped with two engines, a cockpit tandem (with the pilot in front), color LCD multifunction displays and a look Periscope with an infrared camera IRCCD second-generation and a TV channel. The detectability of the helicopter system has been reduced to a minimum in order to reach a maximum capacity of survival on the battlefield. Not only the detectability by infrared or radar has been kept to a minimum, but the electronic (radar, laser, missile launch warnings) as well as detection systems and purchasing function without compromising emission targets. In addition, the integrated logistic system allows a drastic reduction of maintenance per flight hour, and keep the cost of life cycle. There are 4 versions: ARH (Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter) Tiger UHT (Germany), the Tiger HAP (France) and the Tiger HAD (Spain and France). HAP version is designed for armed reconnaissance and fire support. The weaponry and fire control systems have an unprecedented level of accuracy and lethality. It is fitted with a turret gun with a 30 mm rocket submunition 68 mm air-to-air missiles and Mistral. The HAD version (Destruction and Attaque d'Hélicoptère, attack helicopter and destruction) of the Tiger, which was launched in December 2004 and is based on the HAP variant, is being developed to Spain and France. The HAD version combines the capabilities of multipurpose fighter / support of the HAP version with the ability to attack ground-air missiles of the UHT version. France has acquired 40 of its 80 Tigers in the HAD version (delivery in 2009) and Spain will have 24 helicopters version of HAD (delivery in 2008) to be part of the community of Tigre.

ARH (Armed Recognition) Australia
UHT Recognition (ground air) Germany
HAP Recognition armed + + Fire Protection Support (air-to-air) France
HAD Recognition armed + Support Fire Protection + + Destruction (air-to-air) (air-land) Spain v France

The version of Support and Destruction has more mass than previous versions, 6.5 tonnes and is equipped with an engine more powerful weaponry and a more varied, to achieve "a higher level of versatility."

Tiger is a device "highly versatile", whose offensive capabilities can evolve "according to operational needs of customers and its geostrategic environment.

Mod edit: This does indeed look like a summary of the Tiger (or Tigre) helicopter which people can easily look up. However, as Feanor mentioned, what are your thoughts or questions on the helicopter? When posting, pay attention to the forum rules, as well as the need to provide ones own input. As there have been comments made on this before, First Warning.

Interesting, but what do you expect us to discuss about it? It looks to me like you just summarized a description of it. Give us some of your own input. What do you think about it? Do you think it has export potential? What helos is it replacing in service?

Let's just throw some stuff out there and see what happens.

*France chose the Hellfire. That's interesting.

*Germans decided to get another 30mm cannon, recoil problems I think. (Note: the Apache 30mm cannon is 'smaller' 30x113 vs 30x150 and 30x250 for the French and Germans resp.) That's interesting.

*The Tiger is lighter than the Cobra and Apache. Aussies are replacing two helicopters; scout and gunship helicopters, not sure if the Europeans are doing the same. That's interesting.

*Advertised as having lots of commonality with the NH90. Every NH90 customer in the market for Tiger? That's interesting.

*In terms of exports; new customers haven't arrived. The attack helicopter market is more competitive than it used to be. That's interesting. (Just annouced that Brazil just bought some Mi-35Ms)

*Is the Tiger operational?

Given that the aussie taxpayer paid for some/most(?) of that integration for hellfire ii, I'd like to think that they are getting some royalties back now.

Given the apparent adf desire for light cannon commonality, ie 25mm on armidale, aslav, anzac, proposed lhd & I think awd, I always thought it odd that the adf went with the giat 30mm for the tiger. Odd man out like the MSI 30mm on the huons. Mind you the Huon decision was before adf had 25mm anything (from memory).

The HAD is a peticion SPAIN to Eurocopter,we want helicopter more light APACHE and one TIGER more strong and polivalent, version is expected to arrive on the 2011 and replaces BO 105 in Spain.

HAD IN TEST, is this merging or fusion of the copick UHT and HAP, 20/05/08 were tested in Spike ER(rafael)aims to 8000m away, both in shooting and forgets, as in the launch conventional way, we wanted to prove especially the change in target after the missile launch , speeds of 75 knots and 1000 meters high altitude launch, the missile hits a target at 8000 meters to 15-14cm from the lens center target, is much more than what we expected.

HAD have 14% more power in turbomeca engine, more armor and DAS

ARH $ 36m
UHT $ 38-43m
HAP $ 35-30m
HAD $ 44-48m

Our pilots have had to do a course in basic training and learning in school Franc / German with the tiger and now we have about 6 hap to be able to practice later will become Had to.

This demonstrates is that it is now much more exportable, let us not forget that the helicopter can integrate any Hellfire II and Spike ER,and misile air to air.
