The best MBT: Leopard 2, Challenger 2, M1A2 Abrams

Hi all I just registered and was wondering what was the overall best main battle tank. I was thinking best in terms of firepower, armour, targeting equipment, speed/ manoeuvrability, and relative ease of logistic support. I was thinking the major competitors are the Leopard 2, Challenger 2, and M1A2 Abrams tank. I know both the Challenger 2 and M1A2 Abrams tank are doing well in Iraq and Afghanistan (despite all the urban warfare) so they get valuable battlefield experience. However I think the Leopard 2 is the best tank largely because a show I watched on the military channel said it was. Also because it German made (Germany makes very good stuff, especially tanks), it looks the best and I think it’s the newest. But anyway that’s just what I think, I was wondering what the experts around here think.

Quite correct. DT has rules against direct "this vs. that" discussion threads. Invariably such direct comparisons devolve into nationalistic fervor that is short on facts and long on emotions. Thread locked.
